After I called Miles, I decided to wait for him outside. I stood outside on the pavement, and after standing for several minutes, his car pulls up in front of the restaurant.
Miles was surprised when I told him where I was at. I too would be surprised if I was in his shoes.
I open the door and sit down in Miles' car with a sigh.
I won't lie. I was a little sad that Nick didn't show up. It hurt just a bit.
"Wanna talk about it?" Miles asks after a while.
"There's nothing to talk about. I got stood up. There nothing more to it than that." I say firmly.
"I'm sure Nick wouldn't do something like this on purpose. Who knows, he may have a reason."
"I get he may have a reason, but couldn't he had called?" I ask.
"Another reason?"
"Yeah right."
