Rurik had accepted his death a long while ago. He didn't know exactly how it was to be dead, but all he could see was darkness.
'I think that they lied when they said that you see a light when you are going to die. Well, they could just be lying, whatsoever. After all, how could alive humans know something about how it is to die?'
While he was sinking into that eternal darkness, he began to think about the period when he was alive. It was both clarifying and ironic at the same time, in Rurik's opinion.
Clarifying, because he could look at past things from a different perspective and with detachment. He could analyze his attitudes and all the things he did back then.
However, it was ironic for him because he found it funny that someone reasoned about his life the most when already dead.
