The forest was quiet except for the tapping sounds of feet moving briskly across the forest floor.
Daniel had advised they get a move on to avoid ending up as Verg dinner.
They had increased their pace after Daniel had blasted an air cannon off the face of the Verg, Daniel hoped they had put enough distance between themselves and the Verg.
Once again, he had come up blank. He couldn't feel anything no matter how hard he tried.
"Ja-" he paused when he looked at Jake. Jake was keeping up with their pace, but there was a distant and solemn look on his face.
"What's the matter bud?" Daniel approached him with caution. Jake didn't answer
"Jake? Jake??" After his third call, Percy and Anna turned back to check what was happening
"Huh?" Jake answered.
"What are you thinking about. I have been calling you and there is this distant look on your face" Daniel said
"It's nothing" Jake answered
