"I am the First Horseman, the harbinger of Plague and misfortune; Vector!"
Hugo didn't know whether the name Vector was his actual name or just a code name, but he would contemplate that. The real problem was the fact that the creatures said "I am" instead of "We are".
'So, what the person is trying to say is that it is not two people taking the controls but instead one.'
This fight would prove more than he expected. "So..." he continued, "It seems like I'll need backup to deal with you, eh?"
That was to go without saying, and the person behind those two monsters knew that his threat level was nothing to scoff at.
Hugo put his communicator up to his lip a bit and spoke to it, "Call Alpha2 and Hyena."
"Calling..." The communicator said in a low tone and continued, as if remembered that it was two people he was trying to call, "Group call or not?"
"Group call, please."
And in no time, the communicator was ringing, but the monster wouldn't be letting that happen anytime soon.
"Are you playing with me, you stupid kid!"
The boils that popped on their skin erupted, and slimy green liquid flew out of their pores.
"Mucus projectile!"
'Not hard.' He snorted, not caring for the attack.
Hugo leapt into the air avoiding the substances just by a hair, and it was when the mucus hit the ground that he knew he was extremely lucky—it was a hole, not only on the parts where the mucus landed; it was everywhere!
It was only fortunate that the corroding properties of that mucus thing weren't much and were slow-acting to top it off.
Without him even realizing it, his eyes had widened and his heart was racing out of his chest as it cried for help.
"Goddamit! Alpha2, Hyena quickly pick up the phone!"
His stay in the air didn't last very long and his descent wasn't as pleasant as the ascent. This fear almost made him forget he had the ability to create wings.
"Black Matter Conjuring: Jet Black Wings!"
His power listened well this time, and there wasn't as much resistance when he activated the skill—a pair of dark, pristine feathered wings congealed from the concentration of black matter particles in and on his spine.
*Flap* *Flap* *Flap!*
His mere three flaps were enough to keep him floating in the air for minutes, and he was beginning to cherish those minutes of peace now that he'd almost lost them.
'I was too overconfident. His strike caught me off guard. Where the hell are you guys?'
While he lie in wait in the sky, he didn't realize the people he had called minutes before hadn't even picked his call. They just... they just showed up?!
"Wooooooot!"
A loud makeshift war cry appeared near the parts of the streets where he was standing before he took to the skies; the figure accompanied by the cry had a medium-sized body that radiated of raw strength and wore nothing but a white suit jacket and shorts—there was nothing beneath the jacket, only ounces of raw muscle power.
"What do you need me for, Mr Black Knight?!" Hyena yelled to the sky, disregarding the creature in front of him.
Hyena's voice boomed so loudly that it could have shattered a normal human's eardrums.
"What the hell are you talking about? Who the hell in their right minds needs a muscle brained fellow like you?!"
A slightly smaller voice followed by a giggle approached Hugo's ears yet was addressing Hyena instead.
'Thank the lord, these two idiots are finally here!'
The two creatures cocked their heads sideways and stared at the new entries with looks of fascination.
"Oh, so you invited some friends?"
At that question, Hugo's grin became wider and wider—he couldn't help but feel that he'd taken the right action. An S-rank, a B-rank and an A-rank Skydancer should be enough to rough this guy up.
"Haven't you ever heard of plus ones?"
Whoever was piloting the creatures knew it was too late to back down and formulated strategies in his mind.
'Ok, this shouldn't be too hard. Of the three of them, only Black Knight and Hyena can attack. Hermes shouldn't pose much of a threat, so I should deal with him first.'
He repeated those words in his mind over and over again while ordering the two creatures to attack Hermes.
'Use bone growth on your fingers and cover the newly grown nails with corroding mucus.'
He spoke to the creatures like they had minds of their own, but he was still able to command them like it was nothing; shouldn't there have been some form of resistance?
The two creatures nodded internally and bared their fingers, which now bore teeth of a sharp bone claw that they had lathered in their disgusting and dangerous mucus.
"COUGH!"
The two things voiced out their cough-like roars and dashed towards Alpha2, who was still entrenched in a not-so-deep argument with Hyena.
Inches away from killing Alpha2, the two creatures stopped moving all of a sudden, it was as if some hidden force was preventing them.
"It seems our conversation needs to be cut short, Hyena. I have to teach these two weird things a thing or two about teleportation."
Alpha2's voice was threatening, too threatening for any child of his age. But who was Hugo to comment on that, after all, they could consider him more dangerous than Alpha2 considering all the messed up things he did as a fourteen-year-old.
"Teleportation is all about opening and closing invisible vortexes, jumping through the void and whatnot. Some people think that I'm only able to jump between locations that I can sense and other bull crap like that, but let me tell you what I think of that—false!"
"Shall I show you what it means to teleport?"
Raising his hands up to his chest, he clapped. The person behind the monster didn't understand what was going on, but the monsters and Alpha2, who launched the attack, knew perfectly what was wrong.
"Cough, cough! Cough cough!"
At that moment, it was as if it was not them just talking, but they were actually coughing!
*SHRIEK!*
Unnatural shrieks escaped their throats, and the hideous faces contorted into more ugly, and pained faces. And then the limit was reached.
Their bodies went splat, splashing green liquids everywhere. And resting in place of where they once stood were two humongous boulders.
This was teleportation—not jumping from one place to another. This was the real deal.
Laughing out loud, Alpha2 put one hand on his waist and the other two, pointing towards the regenerating mucus monsters.
"Boogie Woogie Trio, attack!"
