Hugo looked at it with red eyes as he heard the comments of the ignorant folk. He didn't want to blame them, but they were the ones at fault, regardless. Each and every one of them that insulted him were people who thought that his family suppressed them.
The scene progressed rather quickly, and the police officer arrived in an instant. Hugo watched silently as the officer charged forward, trying to pry his younger self off the predatory man.
It was strange to see it from such a perspective. Now that Hugo thought about it, the others including the officer might have been involved in the attempted kidnapping.
