Pei An's shadow wasn't seen for nearly a week since then. She had confined and shut herself off from the whole world.
She didn't go out at all and never received guests.
A palace maid knocked on the door of her private chamber as she came in with a tray of food, cautiously putting it on a table.
"Princess consort... I've brought you your meal, please eat," the timid palace maid said.
Pei An was hugging her whole body on the bed, as if trying to protect herself. She flinched when she saw the palace maid's movements. But she didn't give a reaction.
