Pei An sneaked out of the palace to go to the pond again that night.
When she arrived though, she didn't see Li Ze. She kept looking around to see if he was near but there wasn't a shadow of him.
Pei An was disappointed.
She sat down under the towering plant and leaned her back on the tree trunk as a short sigh escaped her lips.
With her arms around her knees, she waited for Li Ze's arrival.
However, the mysterious man didn't appear no matter how long she waited. The scenery around her strangely didn't seem that beautiful anymore.
Half an hour turned into an hour and then it slowly became two hours later.
Pei An felt heavy as she waited without knowing when he would come. Suddenly she felt that she would never see this man again and it surprisingly made her feel sad.
Having been outside for too long, Pei An became worried that her palace maids or attendants would notice. So, she prepared to leave with unwilling heart.
