Back to present.
Pei Qian and her family left Qin Shaoze alone, telling him to rest some more. Then they all separated. Pei Qian went to work by her car while her brother drove to meet a client. Pei Jin had a meeting and went to send his wife back home first.
When Pei Qian was on her way to the company, she received a call from one of her best friends. She suddenly remembered that they all had apparently lost contact with each other after her failed engagement ceremony.
She took two seconds to answer the phone with a guilty conscience.
"Qian Qian, you finally picked up!"
Pei Qian gave a wry smile as she replied, "Sorry Xi Xi, I've no excuse,"
The woman on the other end of the call was Chu Lingxi, Pei Qian's schoolmate and her best friend.
"Qian Qian, I know you were grieving. That's why I didn't have the heart to bother you. But I think I've given you enough time and space, right? How about it, should we meet up?"
