Chapter 3 - Path to Take

"Levi!!!!"

"Levi!!!"

"Levi!!!"

"Levi wake up!" his Aunt woke him up as she looked pissed with the cheap alcohol on the floor and cigarettes.

"I told you not to do this in the house since I hated the smell of it." she said and started throwing away the bottles.

"No don't throw those away!" he said as his aunt looked at him. "What for? It's not like it still has liquor inside." she said as he just grabbed the bag and placed the bottles on his drawers.

"Ahhh this generation of kids are weirdos. Anyways prepare yourself since we're going out." she said.

"Where are we going?" he asked as his aunt pat his head. "You're attending school of course!" she cheerfully said.

When they arrived to the University Levi was anxious as everyone was looking at him. It's because his aunt was wearing a fur outfit together with some guards like a rich young lady who wants his kid to be on the best school at all cost.

"Oh I forgot about it but I was a famous fashion designer and icon in Russia that is why people usually stares at us whenever I'm around." her aunt said and wink at him.

'She didn't have to tell me such things, It's obvious that my aunt is some rich influencer. I'm just not used on getting this much of an attention.' he thought to himself as they arrived at the principal's office.

"What course are you planning to apply in college?" he asked as Levi looked at the principal and smiled at him fakely.

"I haven't decided anything yet." he answered as the principal nodded. His Aunt looked worried about him as she smiled sadly knowing that her niece is still confused on what track will he choose to move forward.

"Take the time that you need Levi, You can always tell me if you have made up your mind." she said as Levi nodded.

Levi was escorted by a student assistant and got himself a tour on the school. There are lots of students around yet one student just caught his eyes as she was rushing to get into her class.

"Levi are you okay?" The student assistant asked as Levi didn't take his eyes off Nico. "What class is she in?" He asked as the student assistant looked at Nico who's rushing to get her things in the classroom.

"She's in the arts and crafts department. Are you interested in arts?" She asked as Levi shrugged and continued with the tour.

It was a very long day for Levi as night came and he decided to get some fresh air in the veranda when he saw Nico walking outside.

'Where the hell is she going at night alone?' Levi asked himself as he grabbed his jacket and followed her.

"Ahhh Levi where are you going?!" Aunt Gaga asked as her face was full with face mask as Levi smiled. "I'm just going to take a short walk auntie. I'll be back in no time!" He said as he wave his goodbye.

He pretend to buy something at the convenience store as Nico was in a rush buying first aid kits.

He followed her through out the playground as she starts puting bandaids on her wounds.

"What are you doing?"

"GOODNESS GRACIOUS! What are you doing?! You almost gave me a heart attack!" She gasp in air as her heart starts beating fast for Levi's sudden approach. She thought she would die in shock.

"When did you get hurt?" He asked as Nico smiled. "I'm a bit clumsy so being wounded is not shocking in my part." She said trying to fix the bandaid as Levi sigh and helped her.

"You should properly cleanse your wound first before applying a bandage on it like this. Wrap it properly around your legs and then it's finished." He explained as Nico looked amazed.

"That's so cool! You should be a nurse. You did great on treating my wound!" She said as Levi smiled sadly.

'A nurse isn't something so bad,' He thought to himself.

"You're quite handsome aren't you? You looked great when you smile so you should also smile more often! Like this... Eeeeeeee." Nico said as she smiled widely.

"Nico, you should also lean on other's especially if it's too much work already. There is a saying that no man is an island. So stop doing things on your own." He said as he remembers how Nico rushed towards their club.

'It seems like he's giving me an advice.' Nico thought as her heart flutters.

"I'll keep that in mind thank you." She said as she starts walking back home. When she got a call from her brother.

"Hello baby sis," he started as Nico sighed and knew what he wanted in the first place. "What is it? I already posted something for your stupid exhibit." She said as his brother laugh on the other side of the phone.

"Do you think I'll be satisfied by your posting? You still have the ocean eyes painting of yours right? Let's put it up in the art exhibition it's not like your using it anyway." Her brother said as Nicholai stop and clenched her fist.

"That art isn't something that should be taken lightly. The ocean eyes were made for grandpa to commemorate the death of grandma!" She explained.

"Yet Grandpa is dead now, Why are you still hiding that painting of yours? Do you want me to tell Mom and Dad about your selfish acts?" He asked as Nicholai knew that her brother Nicholas would not back off empty handed.

"I'll give you another painting, Just don't -"

"I want the ocean eyes, My team will come at your house by Saturday. Prepare the piece or our parents won't like to hear about your selfish acts." He said as he turn off the phone call.

The "Ocean Eyes" painting by Nicholai Nerizaelle is a deeply emotional and evocative piece, created as a tribute to her late grandmother.

This painting was made for her grandfather, encapsulating their shared memories and the profound love they had for one another.

The artwork is dominated by swirling shades of blue, ranging from the light, translucent hues of shallow waters to the deep, mysterious tones of the open sea.

The eyes at the center of the painting are piercing and vivid, resembling crystal-clear ocean waves. They hold an expression of both sorrow and serenity, symbolizing her grandmother's enduring spirit and calm presence even in her absence.

In the background, faint images of seashells, coral, and soft waves subtly emerge, representing the cherished memories her grandmother left behind.

Small, intricate details of flowers are woven into the design, symbolizing life, legacy, and love, as her grandmother's favorite blooms are hinted at in these elements.

The overall texture is smooth, with brushstrokes that mimic the gentle ebb and flow of water, evoking a sense of continuity and connection between past and present.

The painting's warmth lies in its delicate balance of grief and gratitude, offering her grandfather a visual representation of both loss and the enduring beauty of memories shared.

"Nico, you should also lean on other's especially if it's too much work already. There is a saying that no man is an island. So stop doing things on your own."

Nico stopped thinking as she remembers what that guy said. She immediately run towards Garcia Domino's place as she push the doorbell.

A guy was standing behind her as she almost jump in shock seeing that it was Levi.

"Are you following me?!" She asked as she thinks it's creepy that Levi is around her for awhile.

"Ohhh Levi your home, What are you doing with the Nerizaelle's Daughter?" Garcia asked as she smiled at them.

'Levi???' Nico asked to herself as she looked at Levi who's walking inside. "Do you want something from my aunt?" He asked knowing that he heard everything while Nico was on her phone since he was at her back this whole time.

Nico's hands starts to tremble as Levi saw how she hesitate to ask for help.

"N-Nothing... I'm sorry for disturbing you at night." She said as she bow down her head and went back to her house.

"That's strange, I never saw the Nerizaelle's Daughter that close before. She looked like she needed help." Garcia said as she closed the door.

"Aunt, Can I use you and your name in an Exhibit?" He asked as Garcia eyes sparkle. "Are you interested in arts now?!" She asked grinning since arts and crafts is her tempo.

"No, But I found something interesting here in Russia." He said as he looked at Nicholas page of dumb art works.

"Are you interested in Nicholas art work? Hmm, He's art works are not that fascinating to be frank. I don't know why his parents are still wasting their money for him when he have no talent at all." Her Aunt said as she starts making a coffee.

"Tell me more about the Nerizaelle's..." Levi said eagerly looking at Garcia as she smirked knowing that it will be a long night.
