Elena went inside the tent, she nervously beat down next to Esteban. She expected him to be happy to see her and welcome her with a hug but all she got was a cold shoulder turned to her. She got closer to him and placed her hand on him but he still didn't move.
She bit her lip and took a deep breath before giving it another try. She shook him again but still, Esteban did not respond.
"I know that you are still awake," she said but he continued to sleep. "Please talk to me," she said feeling very guilty about trying to kill him.
She waited for a few minutes to get his attention and get him to talk to her. He kept his back to her and pretended to be asleep.
"I know you don't love me. If you did you wouldn't let me beg you like this," she said but no response from him.
"You probably don't care about the children either," she said. Esteban turned around and faced her.
"I care," he said in a soft voice.
