"Good, you are all home!" Sadie called as she entered into the dining room, Claudia and Angus in tow.
"Yes we are." Esmee replied in a bored tone. "Now if you will excuse us, we have important matters to discuss."
"Excuse me, young lady, but you will not TALK TO ME LIKE THAT!" Sadie yelled in response, making the siblings flinch and everyone else's eyes widen in surprise. "Now, before any of you are allowed to leave this room, you must tell me what dates you are getting married."
"Well, Hunter and I are getting married on the 29th of July." Esmee replied flatly. "Does that satisfy you?"
"The date does, but you still need to change your tone, young lady."
"She doesn't need to do anything of the sort." Hunter replied, coming over and standing next to Esmee, arms folded and looking intimidating. "If anything, it is you that needs the attitude adjustment."
"What about you Savannah? Are you going to be a good girl and answer me in the correct tone?" Sadie asked.
"Fletcher and I are getting married on the 5th of August." Savannah replied in the same tone as her sister, visibly enraging Sadie.
"Claudia?"
"Claudia and I have not decided on a precise date." It was Angus that replied. "And even if we did, you are certainly not invited."
"But, I am her MOTHER!" Sadie complained loudly. "Jonathan, do something! Your daughters are being rude to us, even going so far as to threaten not to invite us to their weddings!" She said as their father entered the dining room.
"The day that they get married," Jonathan replied in a passive tone. "Is the day that they stop being out children. They are permitted to choose who they invite to their weddings. Alternatively, we could call the weddings off, but then we would be 4.5 million dollars poorer. So what do you want, to get rid of these vermin or to empty your closet of your Birkins to pay off the debt?" he asked. Esmee looked around the room, incredulous. Did my own father really just call us vermin? She asked herself. Angus, Hunter, Fletcher, Peia, Genifer and Skylar turned the brightest shade of tomato red they could, She was scared that they would start lunging at them.
"You're right. What is six little parties if it means getting these leeches out of our lives." Sadie replied in a sad tone, as Esmee, Savannah, Jeremy, Joshua, James and Claudia instinctively stepped in front of their fianceés. "I guess I should just leave you to it." Sadie hung her head and left the room with Jonathan. The siblings all breathed a collective sigh of relief.
"So that is what it is like." Skylar was the one to break the silence. "I am so sorry that you guys had to put up with it for so long."
"Why are you apologizing?" Jeremy asked. "You weren't the ones that hurt us."
"No, but you were subjected to it nonetheless."
"Thank you for your apology, Skylar." Claudia said. "But it would mean a whole lot more if it came from those two."
"I know."
"So, who else has picked a date?" Hunter asked, changing the subject.
"Peia and I have agreed on the 11th of August." Jeremy replied.
"And Genifer and I are having ours sometime after September 23rd." Joshua said. "But we should probably go upstairs before we continue this discussion."
"Why?" Savannah asked.
"There are things we should discuss outside of our parents' earshot."
"Let's go up to our bedroom." James suggested. "It isn't as heavily monitored under the loose guise of 'keeping them pure'." He led the troop up the stairs. "Why did you call us for an emergency meeting?" He asked Joshua.
"Do you want to tell them, or should I?" Joshua asked as he turned towards Genifer.
"I should probably be the one to tell them." She replied, sitting down. "Please sit down, it makes it less awkward." She motioned for them to sit down. "So this is a bit of a long story, so I will try and make it as short as I can. I am not human, I am a Faun." She explained, looking around nervously. "And my name isn't Genifer, it is Gnunia."
"Really?" Jeremy asked Joshua, looking pissed. "You brought us here, all because your fianceé wanted an audience for her one woman act? I thought you were sensible."
"Then you must be truly idiotic for refusing the truth." Peia said, surprising everyone. "Because I myself am a Siren."
"Who here is a supernatural being?" Angus asked after a rather pregnant pause. "Please, raise your hands." Genifer, Peia, Skylar, Hunter and Fletcher all raised their hands. "Holy Shit." He breathed as they all put their hands down. "If you don't mind me asking, just what are you?"
"Does anyone take offence to that question?" Claudia asked, trying to get a clear consensus.
"I don't think anyone in this room takes offence to such a question." Peia replied. "As I said, I am a Siren, hence why I have been able to have a career in music at such an early age. And my true name is Aeleolopei. Peia is a stage name, and honestly, I find it easier to pronounce than my real name."
"As I said, I am a Faun named Gnunia." Genifer replied. "And I still prefer to use that name, but will put up with being called Genifer for your guy's sake."
"I am known as the Angel Suriel." Skylar said. "But I like Skylar better, as it creates as much distance between me and my mother."
"I am a werewolf." Hunter said. "I don't have any other name, but I am the leader of the Sabercrown pack."
"And I am a vampire." Fletcher responded. "Leader of the Eclipse coven."
"So all of my future siblings-in-law are some variant of non-human." Claudia said after another long pause. "Perfect way to finish off my school career."
"There is more." Genifer said. "I am a princess. My mother cast me out because she didn't want to give up the power that is afforded to her as Queen and as last of her lineage."
"And?" Esmee asked. "Why are you telling us this?"
"It's about the Pair of Triplets, isn't it?" Skylar asked.
"The what?" James asked in response.
"It has long been foretold by many scholars and Oralists alike," Fletcher started in response. "That when A Queen has lost her way, A king has lost his favour, A prince rejects his throne and a Princess has lost her home, two pairs of triplets will emerge to heal, to love, and to help them home." He took a deep breath. "I think that Gnunia is the princess who has lost her home, and because myself, Hunter, Angus, Aeleolopei, Gnunia and Suriel are getting married to two sets of triplets that just happen to be stepsiblings, I would go so far as to say the prophecy is coming into effect."
"The next question is, who else is the prophecy talking about?" Hunter asked. "Who is the Queen who has lost her home? The King who has lost his favour? The Prince rejecting his throne?"
