Gargar and Evan looked at each other. Slowly, Gargar's eyes started to wet and that made Evan cringe.
"Don't ask to kiss and hug me again!" That young man grumbled loudly.
The sugar guy shook his head slightly, then smiled and said in an emotional tone, "No, Master. I won't do it."
"Don't worry, we will take care of him." The driver said firmly.
"Alright then." Jon moved to the back of the car and pulled a loudspeaker in the shape of a funnel from the trunk. He handed the loudspeaker to Evan.
Evan accepted that loudspeaker, checked it for a moment, then said. "Let's go."
Mimi transforms into a cell phone at Evan's request. The young man put the cellphone girl in one of the pockets on the bulletproof vest he was wearing. Then, he and the others got back into the car. Evan popped his head past while holding the loudspeaker, preparing to scream at the monster.
Actually, they didn't even need to go out. Perhaps the driver wanted Evan to have a clearer look. Evan didn't want to think about it. It's not something that really matters.
The black sedan started moving towards the monster, who did not move from its position and just rampaged in its place. At a certain distance, the driver suddenly drifted the car to turn its back on the monster. Evan's head hit the edge of the window because of that.
That young man pulled his head back and rubbed the sore area. Gargar already stretched out his hand, about to do something to Evan's head. However, he immediately gave up on his intentions as Evan glared at him.
"When you're ready, do it, Evan," Jon ordered.
This time Evan pulled a part of his upper body through the window and brought the end of the loudspeaker to his mouth. After taking a deep breath, he shouted with all his might, "Hey you meatball-sized monster with a strange color!!! Can you hear me!? Don't you know that overeating is bad for your health!!??"
"You haven't turned it on." Jon patted Evan's hand a little.
"Ah, sorry." Evan immediately flipped through the loudspeaker several times and finally pressed the button on the handle when he found it. He then shouted again. "Hey, you, a monster whose body is like two dumplings combined!!! You're looking for me, right!?"
"If your face is covered like that, how can he know it's you?" Now, the driver warned.
Evan lowered the bottom of his head covering to his chin, so his face could be seen.
"But, if that monster was provoked by you claiming to be Evan, I don't think it is a problem. He was so angry, I think he would immediately believe that you are Evan, even if you wear that head covering." Jon added.
Evan closed his eyes and caught his breath, trying to hold back the irritation that was already bubbling up inside him. He had to be focused on the mission.
The monster is still on a rampage. He beat here and there in the flames, even though there were no buildings to hit because the surrounding buildings had been destroyed. "Food!!! I need food!!!"
Taking a deep breath again, Evan shouted for the third time. "Hey, you, a creature that looks like two brown silicone implants fused!!! You're looking for me, right!? Come here, motherfucker!!! Catch me if you can!!! Your fat body definitely won't be able to catch up with us!"
This time, Evan's scream managed to attract that monster's attention. The creature stopped rampaging, then turned to look at the black sedan where Evan was.
"Looking for you? Who are you and why I have to catch you?" The monster asked.
Evan blinked a few times. "I'm Evan. Dovi told you to attack me, right?"
The monster tilted its head slightly, blinking too. It took a few seconds for him to finally speak, "Evan? I don't know someone named Evan. Then, who is Dovi?"
The atmosphere suddenly fell silent. Evan's mind was completely blank.
"Argggghhhh!!! Why should I care about you!? I just want to eat!!!" The monster did start walking but in the opposite direction from the sedan's location. "Food!!! I want to eat!!!"
With excruciatingly rigid movements like a robot lacking lubrication, Evan pulled himself in from the car window. His face was almost expressionless, like a lump of dry wood. Gargar patted his shoulder encouragingly, but Evan didn't respond at all.
In his whole life, this was the first time Evan had felt this useless.
"So, what's the next plan?" The driver asked.
Jon shrugged. "Looks like that monster will come out of the fire zone. We better take a detour to get to him."
"Roger that." The driver started driving the car again.
Evan was still sitting in the backseat, frozen in silence. Even when the driver did some crazy maneuvers that made Gargar stumble here and there, Evan remained silent with a super flat expression.
Until finally, the car stopped behind the monster, who was now stepping on a road where the buildings on either side were not burned, and there were no more damaged vehicles to be seen.
"Now it's your turn, sugar man," Jon ordered without seeing Gargar at all.
Gargar looked at his master, who was still not moving. Letting out a loud sigh and with a sudden movement, she hugged Evan's body tightly and kissed him passionately on the cheek.
"Get off me, bastard!!!"Evan finally woke up from the shock. He tried to break free, but Gargar did not want to let go of his master. Instead, the sugar man was even more intense in pouring out his affection for Evan. Evan felt as if his body was about to be crushed and his cheeks became so wet from Gargar's lips.
Meanwhile, the two men sitting at the front could only remain silent when the tussle in the backseat occurred. As the spherical monster walked further and further away, the driver beckoned by clearing his throat.
"I sincerely apologize, Master." Finally, Gargar let go of his hug. "I really need this to raise my resolve."
Evan didn't answer. He bent down and held his head tightly, like a person in a deep depression.
"I will fight it." Gargar turned to the two people sitting at the front. "And I thank you guys for escorting me and Master to get here."
Jon didn't respond at all, while the driver turned to look at Gargar and nodded slowly.
"Before that, please open this car door, I don't know how to do it, sir," Gargar asks for help with a serious face.
