David sat back the blue stallion before it arrived at the high street, clothing shops lined the road as they drove through and tried to get into a parking spot suitable for the car before they all got out and David got amazed by all these old-style shops since he was so used to department stores and malls but small businesses dominated the scene here, offering different fashions.
David, Linda and Jerry walked through the small crowds of different fantasy races and curiously window-shopped to see if the clothes were stylish enough and fit in with the trends. They entered one shop lined with men's fashionable clothes and shoes giving David a smile, impressed by how well-stocked it is with many colourful items of clothing.
Linda says "Go on and buy seven shirts, seven pants and ties and two pairs of suspenders."
David nods and then scrambles around the shop, looking at articles of clothing as the human woman behind the counter smiles and then says "Can I help you?"
"Please, I need clothes for every day of the week," David said with a smile, trying to be polite as he can.
"Ah, of course, one moment. Any particular style?" The woman asks while pointing her finger in the air.
"Casual but formal and just has enough looseness for the summer, ties and two pairs of suspenders," David explains.
The woman nods and then whirls her finger and then all the clothes fly through the shop and onto the counter as the woman smiles then asking "Who is paying then?"
"We are," Jerry says before coming over and then pulling out a banknote and putting it on the counter as the woman uses her magic to bag the clothes as Linda tries to stop David from speaking about the magic that the woman used.
David struggled a little while Linda silenced him, so he said nothing stupid that would lead him to be stuck in an asylum for the next few years before getting led out and then Jerry putting the bags into the boot and then getting in the car and Linda asking "Want to go to a cafe or anything you two."
Jerry nods quietly and then David says taking in the scent of polished creme leather "Sure... also did the leather get replaced in this car?"
Linda nods "I trusted Stevie to do what he sees fit with the car, so I imagine he replaced the engine and reupholstered the seats while we were away at war."
"What type of car is this, anyway, Linda?" David inquires curiously.
"A Wickman V-85 Sports model, with custom parts," Linda replies starting the car up before driving out into the road as they made their way to a cafe, David looking at the hustle and bustle as he then panics but comforts himself in his mind by saying "It's just a dream... Just a dream. It's not real... I'm in a coma."
David still got his bouts of panicking that he is permanently stuck here but kept his wits about him saying that everything was a dream and that he is in a coma in his head on the way there but finally arriving at the cafe he got out with Linda and Jerry who led him inside and got him comfortable as they made the orders.
Jerry then returned with Linda after making and paying for the order then asking the human lad they picked up yesterday "So, what was with the panicking in the back seat a few minutes ago? Still fighting those stress demons from you finding yourself in another world?"
Dave nodded quietly to his two new friends "I'm just so confused, I want to wake up, do something better in my life than be stuck in that coma in my world."
They nod, Linda then says "Well, things happen, we'll find out soon enough."
"Do you think I can go home?"
"You will do, Dave, don't worry, we'll keep you housed fed and watered until your time comes. We'll make sure money is in your pocket and long as we can find a property for our cafe dream." Jerry says, smiling confidently, watching as the waitress comes over and puts the tray on the table with sandwiches and teapots with milk and sugar.
David politely smiled at the waitress "Thank you, miss."
David felt somewhat comfortable in the cafe, it felt like he was back in Liverpool at Maggie May's cafe and having a drink of tea with his friends and having a sandwich. Even though that world was so far away until his actual body awakens.
It wasn't long before his new friends enjoyed lunch much like himself as the radio played that music in the background, helping him relax a little more and adapt to what he has now.
