When I got out of bed I was still wounded in my ankle and stomach.
I felt quite weak from all the blood loss and I could feel every inch of my body hurting.
When I went to get up a girl came into my room.
—What are you doing moving? Go back to bed.
I was in no condition to reply. The truth is that I didn't even have the strength to look up and look her in the face.
When I lay down, the girl tore apart the shirt and pants I was wearing.
—Did you stick the knife in yourself?
—What? No. Why?
—The person who stuck this knife in you didn't intend to kill you, or if he did, you were very lucky.
—What are you saying?
—Well, you lost a lot of blood, but you wouldn't have died from that knife.
I stared at her from the bed, not knowing what to say.
Mari, did you do it on purpose?
I don't even know how I'm supposed to feel.
—Why are you crying?
Before I knew it some tears were falling from my eyes.
I quickly wiped them away and looked at the girl who had come in.
She had short hair and glasses. She was dressed in a robe and was now looking at my ankle wound.
—Who are you? Are you a Goddess too?
The girl ignored me and continued doing what she was doing.
When she finished examining my wounds she turned away from me and held out her hand.
What are you going to do?
—Power of nature, heal and cleanse the wounds of this wounded man.
A kind of energy began to envelop me. It was warm, gentle and pleasant. Bright green leaves appeared around me that I could not touch.
When the energy dissipated I felt as if something precious was gone. At the same time the girl turned and headed for the door.
—Sorry. You can thank Viktor for me.
The girl looked at me quizzically.
—To Viktor, the bald boy?
—Yes. Just tell him thank you from Cam.
The girl nodded and left, closing the door. Who could that be?
I went to find Panther and remembered that terrible scene again.
But I didn't have much time to grieve as a white light engulfed me again.
When I recovered I was in a new room. This one had a more peaceful feel to it. The other one had gray walls and everything was black, but this one with the wooden floor, cream-colored walls and an orange light gave the feeling of more warmth.
When I got up I realized that I no longer had a single wound or mark. The truth is that I felt a little sorry for him. The scar from the stabbing I would have liked to keep to remind me of what had just happened.
I sighed and left the room.
As I walked out I seemed to be in a hallway as if this was a hotel and as I looked at the door I saw a number that was still with me, 739.
Then a notice appeared in front of me.
_____________
Welcome to the Hotel of the Apostles.
You are on the 4th level of the bunker, and right now you are guests of this magnificent 8 star hotel. Here you will spend the next three weeks until the next test.
There is literally everything to do in this hotel, but don't lose sight of the goal. The next test will not be so easy.
And by the way, you will find in your rooms in the top drawer a phone. In it you have a video of the best parts of your first test and an empty address book with contacts.
Enjoy yourselves,
your dear hostess.
______________
Crap. Definitely living many years had made her crazy.
I went back to my room and picked up the phone. It was quite ergonomic and lightweight. Also, with a pretty serene design, I quite liked it.
When I opened it I only had 3 apps, contacts, calls and gallery.
Contacts was empty, same with calls. But gallery had a video in it.
—With that the best parts.
I turned the phone off and put it in my pocket. I didn't feel like mortifying myself any more about what had happened.
I walked back out of the room and headed for the elevator.
The truth is that the hotel itself was quite relaxing and the elevator was no exception.
It was as if everything, the color, the background music, everything was made to relax us and not make us nervous.
—Wait, music?
At that moment I realized that I had been listening to music since I left the room. A melodic music with almost no volume at all.
I was shocked that I hadn't noticed it until then, but I was glad, music always comes in handy when I'm in trouble.
When I entered the elevator I was quite shocked with the amount of floors it had, in some there were only rooms, but in the rest there was literally everything.
—Augmented reality rooms, dining rooms, terraces, gyms of different types, rooftop, music room, reading room, sewing, carpentry, kitchen, stores, swimming pools ... You have really worked out the fourth level eh Goddess.
It has so many floors that I wonder if you can see the roof from the ground.
With the idea of wanting to check it out I headed to level 0, which had the 'Reception' sign next to it.
Apparently I'm not the only one who had this idea in mind, as I left the reception desk I found a bunch of people in front of a counter harassing those who were once treated as Gods.
The irony made me laugh, although only I knew that.
As I spun around trying to find the exit I saw that there was no way out.
—Really?
Then I turned my eyes to the counter. I understood much better why they were being harassed, so much so that a little more and I would have thrown myself into the ruckus too.
I decided to turn around and go back to the elevator. But a rather strong hand grabbed me from behind.
—Let me have a moment, kid.
Hearing the voice of the old man who called himself Milos, I pulled myself together and nodded.
—I bring you a message from Viktor and, indeed, from most of us.
I swallowed hard. A message from these big shots? Imagine suddenly being told that all your teachers want to talk to you at once. That kind of pressure and nervousness is what I feel.
—Relax kid, I'm not going to eat you.
—You sure?
—I'm sure. Now listen. We're asking you not to give up because of what happened to you in the agility test. I'm sure it's hard after watching the video, but please keep moving forward, it's not your fault.
What he had just said to me raised quite a few doubts.
—How do you know what happened?
—Imagine a room with many screens and on them we can see how everyone's tests went. We saw everything that was happening on them.
Impressive.
—Thanks, but I'm not too bad for you guys to give me advice.
Then Milos looked at me with an appraising look.
—Have you seen the video?
I shook my head.
—I didn't feel like it.
Next to me Milos sighed.
—I'm not going to tell you what to do. I'm not going to tell you what to do. But remember what I told you when you see him.
I nodded.
—And now that we're talking, what's that all about?
Seeing the 5 of them trying to answer questions with everything they could was pretty funny.
—A bald guy talked more than he should have to someone and we got this as a joint punishment.
I couldn't hold back my laughter.
—Tell Viktor thanks. I owe him one.
Milos smiled in satisfaction and returned to the others.
—I'll see you around, 739.
And the so-called God of Lightning, or Zeus, said goodbye to me.
As I rode the elevator up to the dining room, I relaxed.
But I looked at my cell phone, tempted.
What will the video show me?
