1 week after
"It is said that police now have a lead regarding the identity of the criminal known as Shadow Cat. After what seemed as a gang war leaving 12 men dead officers believe to have enough evidence for the scene to find the man's identity. It was-" Marie shut off the television not wanting to hear the rest.
If he did not care about her and chose to leave her then why should she care about him? Even after everything Marie had tried to look for him at school only to find out form his best friend that he had left the school and decided to finish school online. Marie knew he was only avoiding her. What a coincidence that the second she decided to come back to school he leaves?"
"Being avoided? I guess that's another good reason for another one." She said to herself as she cut one more time. Today she had given herself three more cuts. One for thinking about him, one for being worthless, and now one for being avoided. Marie looked at her arms as she washed the blood away. It has been a week since she started cutting.
She truly believes it helps numb the pain he left her with. She began to count her scars and cuts. 23! A total of 23 on her left arm. One for each insult said to her. 40! A total of 40 on her right arm one for each time she thinks of him. Marie smiled as she bandaged her arms "Soon I won't have to think of him."
No one knows of her new found hobbies. She tends to hide it all pretty well. No one thinks too much about it since she had change drastically over this past few days. All from the way she dressed to the way she acts changed overnight. To people she had simply decided to be different. That night Marie had returned home only that it was no longer the Marie they knew.

Once again Marie wakes up only to find herself running to the bathroom. "What is happening to me?" Marie whispers as she heads to the sink to rinse out her mouth. For the past week every morning she wakes up feeling sick. Sometimes during the day she feels dizzy and the smell of burgers make her sick. Well now that she really thinks about it she is about two weeks late. "OMG, oh no, no, no, no please tell me I am wrong. This can't be happening!"
All day Marie could not keep her focus on school. She was too worried about what the meaning to her morning sickness could be. In other circumstances she would be absolutely ecstatic of the possibilities of carrying the child of the love of her life but at this moment she hoped it she was mistaken. She could not be pregnant this would not be good.
Still worried to death Marie decided it was best if she put her mind at ease so she decided that right after school she would head to the nearest pharmacy. Finally after 8 long hours of classes school was over. Marie ran towards the nearest pharmacy and walked up to the counter.
Worker- "Hello Ms. How can I help you?"
Marie- "Um I am late and I was wondering if you can help me find the best pregnancy test here?"
Worker-"Sure thing I have some right her, how many would you like?"
Marie- "Two please"
Worker- "Sure thing sweetie."
Marie- "Thanks"
After paying for her test Marie hurried back home and to the bathroom. She had to find out if she was or not pregnant. She hope she wasn't, how will she tell her parents that she is carrying the child of Canada's most wanted criminal? Two minutes left. "Uhh this is the longest 10 minutes of my life!" Marie groaned while pacing back and forth in the bathroom.
After the entire 5 minutes passed the timer rang on Marie's phone causing her to jump a bit. She took a deep breath before walking towards the sink where she had place the tests. Looking towards them she gasp as they both had the word pregnant written on the screen in black letters. Marie could not believe what was happening.
She was pregnant by the assassin the cops were coming close to catching, the man who ripped her heart to shreds, and the man she was still in love with but could never be with. Marie falls on her knees sobbing. "No please tell me this is not true. No, no, no, no this can't be happening to me, what am I going to do? I can't do this on my own I am only 17." Marie cries and cries until her vision became hasty and her surroundings faded.
4 months later
Marie has still not heard anything from Shadow. For a second she thought he was dead but later she saw him on the news a few times. Part of her was relieved that he was still alive but the other was still angry at him for leaving her and not just her but their feature child. That's right Marie had decided to keep the child. As much as she wanted to hate the idea of carrying his child she simply couldn't. No matter how much time had passed and no matter what he had done she still loved him with all her heart.
From watching the news she had found out that the search for his identity had been a dead end. It was said that the evidence had been tampered with leaving them again with no clue as to who was this masked individual. Marie thought that maybe now that he had survived the war and police had lost track of him he would come back for her, that he would find her and tell her he still loved her but he never did.
This only depressed her even more. Yes there were nights where she still cried herself to sleep, others where she had nightmares of him abandoning her and their child to death but she tried her best to remain positive for her future child. According to her doctor she is now almost 6 months now. No one else knows she is pregnant yet well no one but her parents.
It was hard to keep the secret from them since they lived in the same roof. They were not happy at first, they wanted her to tell the police so that they could do some type of DNA test and find that horrible criminal but Marie told them the truth. At least some of it. She told them how he never hurt her, how he cared for her and treated her, how she fell in love with him and lastly how he left her in their front door that night.
Of course she did not tell them the part of the rape and the identity but she told them the rest more or less. They were not happy with their daughter. For the first few days they could not even look at her but after they decided to support her decision and be there for her like she had always been for them.
This did not change the fact that they hated the criminal more than ever for breaking their daughter's heart and wished he got caught but they supported her nevertheless. As for everyone else well they had no idea. Marie hid her pregnancy as well as she hid the scars in her arms. To people her way of dressing with loose clothing was just part of her changing her look. On the bright side Marie stop cutting.
Finding out she was pregnant helped her be strong. She wanted to be strong for her child. It certainly helped to have her parents support. Shadow Cat might have regretted ever falling in love with her but she did not regret carrying the child of the man who managed to steal her heart. Her first love. The only thing on her mind now is will she ever tell him? Did she even want to?
