Chereads / The Mage's Galaxy / Chapter 4 - Earth, Mysterious Man

Chapter 4 - Earth, Mysterious Man

Inside a random inn in the town, an azure-haired youth slept like a log, the sleeping youth is precisely Mirage, the youth was exhausted when he found his way back to town to the point where he fainted right after paying the room fees.

Thankfully the hotel owner was kind enough to have someone carry him to his designated room.

His instinct to survive at that time seemed to kick in, coupled with lady luck's gracious blessing, he miraculously managed to find his way back just by following the path towards the sun's direction.

He encountered a lot of green goblins along the way through, so his journey was quite arduous, but in return he managed to level up to LV9, thanks to his handy bone dagger, every enemy he encountered would be killed almost immediately, of course, that's him taking advantage of the creature's weaknesses.

Mirage slowly woke up when the sunlight shined on his face and he confused at first but then it tuned into shock and embarrassment.

"I had totally forgot to log out of the game due to the fatigue I felt yesterday..."

He muttered and went to his game screen and clicked the log out button only to suddenly get a notification.

[ Error! Log out function is currently disabled. ]

He stiffened and his emerald green eyes went wide open as he was completely startled by the notification.

"W-what is this?"

He went on to click the log out button again only to receive the same notification over and over again until he completely gave up.

He blankly stared at the window while he was silently muttering to himself with dispirited and lost expression.

"You've got to be kidding me... Why am I suddenly unable to log out? What do you mean by disabling the log out function?? Why is this happening to me? Let me log out..."

Mirage was still sitting on his bed with a distracted face even though a few minutes had already passed, right now he was staring absentmindedly at the wooden wall of the room.

He tried all the methods he could think of and all of it resulted to nothing as he still could not log out of the game.

He tried to report the error to the customer service but he was responded by a cold robotic voice of a bot.

He also tried to press the log out button repeatedly as if he was hoping that this would make the game system log him out of the game forcefully, but he was also met with disappointment with this method as the game system did not even continued to give out notification after he had reached the certain limit of his notifications.

He tried to kill himself but he was too scared to do it as he thought that maybe the game had suddenly turned into that certain notorious game that could kill people in reality when they died inside the game, he thought that maybe this is the reason behind this mess.

He was filled with sadness and despair at the thought of the possibility of him not being able to see his family anymore.

"What should I do now?"

He sighed again and looked outside the window with a sad face.

Meanwhile, in a certain place on Earth.

An old butler in black tuxedo and white under jacket was hurriedly running inside the huge brightly decorated corridors.

The old man run so fast like that of a strong bull and his swift speed was extremely unfitting of his current age of 85.

He arrived in front of a certain large brown door carved with exquisite wave like patterns, the old man was panting heavily beside the huge doors and he looked as if he was on the verge of a heart attack.

He took one final deep breath and slowly pushed the doors open.

Inside the room, stood a middle aged man holding a thick book and he looked like he was currently reading its contents as his cold and handsome face displayed a tight frown.

At the center of the room was a large wooden study table that had various important papers laid on it.

The 3 corners of the room was occupied by large bookshelves full of different books of differing varieties.

The old butler saw the man silently standing in the corner thus he called him out in a soft voice to avoid startling the man.

"Master."

The man looked up to where the old butler was and replied in an impassively cold voice.

"Oh?"

The man had a neatly combed short black hair, a solemn and cold handsome face that made him look dignified and regal.

He was 1.9 meters tall and he wore a pale blue jacket that was draped over his shoulders while the long sleeve of his inner polo was neatly folded three times that perfectly accentuated his manly and mature charm.

He wore long dark blue pants that made him look more tall, he also wore a black formal shoes that made him look chic and stylish.

The handsome face of the middle-aged man was calm as he was looking at his old butler, he was also raising one of his black eyebrows seemingly asking the old man of what's the matter.

The butler momentarily forgot what he was going to say as he was once again blown away by the authoritative charisma of his master.

Then he woke up from his sudden stupor as he remembered that his purpose for coming here was extremely important.

The old butler took a deep breath and said in an excited voice.

"Master! We have finally located the hiding place of the young master!"

He tried his hardest to suppress his excessive excitement as he was afraid that his master might get displeased by his behavior.

The man did not mind this though as he was instantly in a good mood after he learned that his subordinates had found his son.

"Is that so? Where did you find him?"

He said this with a hint of gentleness and a bit of anxiety on his cold voice.

They have been searching for his son for almost a month already and he even thought that maybe it would take them a little longer to find his son because there's the possibility of him running away overseas.

He thought of what had happened to him and his son back then and he could only bitterly sigh.

They only had a slight disagreement back then and who would've thought that his son would unhesitatingly run away from his comfortable home because of that shabby game called [ Dystopia ].

His son said that that game could help him cure his genetic injury which their family couldn't even cure, so the moment he heard his son saying that he wanted to play the game, he immediately rejected it saying that it was bad for his overall health to play shady games like that.

This led to his son running away from their home and the moment he received the news of his son's escape he was immediately filled with worry and anxiety.

The body of his son had been very weak since his birth due to some unfortunate accident and he didn't expect for that weak son of his to be this insistent on playing the game that he had even decisively left his home.

He deployed his men to search for the whereabouts of his son but they were only able to find him a month later.

He felt quite anxious at this moment as he did not even know the state of his son whether he was eating or living well.

The old butler hesitantly replied to his question while hurriedly wiping his cold sweat on his wrinkly face.

"That... the young master was found hiding in XX."

The middle-aged man had his eyes wide open from shock and anger after he heard the address that the butler gave.

"What did you say?! He's living this near us yet you were only able to find him a month later? How useless can you guys get?! Go and immediately fetch my son back! You remember that you have to prioritize his safety at all costs even at the expanse of your lives! Do you understand?"

He was completely startled at the start but then he suddenly remembered the image that he had to keep thus he regained his calm and cold demeanor by the middle of his sentence and ordered the butler using his dignified voice.

The butler shivered and had his head kept low all this time as he was afraid that his master might lash out at them for their carelessness and he only sighed in relief after he heard the orders of his master thus he immediately replied with extreme confidence in his voice.

"Affirmative. You don't have to worry master as I would definitely bring the young back safely!"

The dignified man heard this and let out a satisfied nod and said.

"You're dismissed."
