The hooded woman tightly bit her lips, her white eyes flickered a trace of hesitation, she silently thought to herself.
'I can't use it... at least not now... Master would immediately sense that I had left the sect if I used that equipment.'
The hooded woman's master had given her a terrifying item that would be able to protect her life when she's in danger.
That item was extremely terrifying as it was able to highly complement her Psychic capabilities, it should be known that there are no specific types of equipment that a Psychic could use because of the class being newly created.
But that particular item could be used to enhance the effectiveness of all her Psychic skills, but there's a downside to this.
There's a price she had to pay if she wanted to use that item.
Her will energy would be continuously consumed at a terrifying rate by the equipment this would continue to deplete her energy until it would completely exhaust her.
This would, in turn, put pressure on her mind that she needs to withstand thus every skill she used should be casted with great care or she could easily suffer a tremendous backlash.
Her master deemed that the item was too dangerous for the current her thus he placed various restrictions on that item.
He had done this so that his disciple would somehow be able to wield at least 5% of that item's power when she's in dangerous situations.
Her master had also placed a notifying array on the item so that he would immediately be informed if she had used that item.
This is also done so that he could give an appropriate response to rescue his disciple if she really couldn't deal with her enemies even with the use of the item that he gave to her.
...
She's extremely unwilling to use the item but she doesn't have any choice because her traps had already depleted just now.
She helplessly sighed and muttered under her breath.
"Please don't blame me, master... I had only done this so that I could rescue your future grand disciple."
With that, she stopped in her tracks and willed the lying dormant item inside her body to come out and assist her.
She extended her hands and made a triangle shape using both hand's index and thumb fingers, then a silhouette of something suddenly appeared on the triangle gap that she made.
It slowly became more vivid until one could finally see its full appearance, the mysterious item in her hands seemed to be a golden pyramid with a flat and smooth surface.
One could also see a tightly closed eye in the center of the pyramid that made it look mysterious and mystical.
The dormant will energy deep inside the hooded woman wildly surged and her energy was being continuously absorbed by the item in her hands.
Her face was slowly becoming pale and sweat was also forming on her back, thus with the pyramid item in her hands, she immediately used a psychic skill in her head and carefully channeled it to the item.
The pyramid slowly glowed with brilliant golden lights and the tightly closed eye on the item looked like it was opening because one could see that the gap of the eye released faint white lights.
The hooded woman's face was dripped with sweats and her brows formed into a tight frown, her mind is constantly on high alert and she's extremely careful on her actions so that she wouldn't make any careless mistakes while channeling her skill.
Her chanting speed was unbelievably fast and the spell she had just channeled had been almost instantly released by the pyramid artifact in her hands.
Then like a blooming white lotus flower, the closed eye on the center of the pyramid slowly opened, what was revealed beneath that eyelid was a white eye with white iris.
Right now, that eye emitted a mystical silvery glow on its white iris, it was as if it would burst out at any moment now.
Eternal Death Sleep!
The skill that she used was a terrifying 6-star psychic skill that could wipe out the consciousness of a target by putting them into their sleep.
She would invade the mind of the target and induce them so that they would into their deep slumber while at the same time her leftover will energy would slowly corrode the consciousness of the target until their mind turns into nothingness.
To say the least, this is a terrifying skill that could make one feel cold and fearful because this skill would show them personally of what would happen when one died in their sleep.
She used this skill because she knew for herself that normal psychic skills wouldn't affect the mind of a crazy devil that much, thus she decisively used the most lethal skill in her arsenal as she was in this for the kill.
Normally, this skill would require her to form various hand seals for at least 30 seconds but this channeling time has been reduced at an almost impossible rate of 90% and its casting time became almost nonexistent due to the terrifyingly mysterious artifact in her hands.
What does this mean? It only means that the most lethal 6-star skill in her hands was extremely weak in the eyes of the artifact that it could release any 6-star in almost an instant!
What's more if she had a more advanced 7 or 8-star psychic skill and used it with this artifact? Just the thought of it would make one shiver in fear.

Mysterious Central Continent
Somewhere deep inside a tall and seemingly boundless mountain sat a sage-like man in his 30's in a huge decorated stone room.
The man had flowing long blonde hair that seemed to shine brilliantly like that of a splendidly shining golden river.
The man had a pair of blonde yellow eyebrows like that of a pair of sharp golden swords, at this moment, his eyes were tightly closed and his red lips were tightly puckered for a brief moment before he opened his mouth and mutteringly sighed in a deep manly voice.
"Sigh. This foolish disciple had sneaked out yet again. Hmm? She's in the Western Endless Desert? What is her purpose for going in that harsh desert? Is she perhaps planning to recruit the newly born Prophetic Child?!"
The tightly closed eyes of the handsome man abruptly opened and a pair of glittering ocean-blue eyes were revealed that appeared extremely deep and unfathomable.
He knew of the birth of the prophetic child that was born somewhere in the vast desert of the west, but he did not put much attention on that matter as he had more important matters to attend to right now.
But who would've known that his disciple got tempted to recruit that child? She did not know if she wanted that child to become her disciple or what, but his disciple had used the artifact he gave which means that she's in danger.
His eyes gazed to the west where his disciple had gone off to, he angrily stomped his foot and helplessly muttered to himself.
"She cannot do that! It is a well-known fact that each Prophetic Child would suffer tribulations after tribulations since their birth, so why interfere when you're not even a saint yourself that could save the world out of pity and kindness!"
He was taken aback by the sudden actions of his disciple and was extremely speechless since there are various records of the life of a prophet since ancient times and the things written on them were horrifyingly dangerous.
The peeking of the heavenly secret is a huge offense in the eyes of the heavens thus a prophet that could predict the future of the world was akin to them intruding the heavens and knowing its secret plans for the whole world.
The heavens would send tribulations after tribulations to the prophet and this would only stop after a prophet dies or survive until their maturity.
The heavens would be helpless when it comes to dealing with prophets that could predict the future, every tribulation that the heavens sent to them would have been already predicted by the prophets.
This, in turn, would let the prophets come up with various countermeasures on how to evade or deal with their upcoming tribulations and it was like the heavens are only wasting its time on this futile attempt thus it eventually stopped targeting prophets past their maturity.
Right now, that foolish disciple of his had chosen to interfere with the tribulation of the prophet, this would surely incite the wrath of the heavens and it would divert its attention to the prophet and target the one who interfered instead.
The heavens would send all of the tribulations that the prophet would have to bear to her until she ultimately died or until the prophet that she protected had matured.
