Chapter 47 - Descent of the Devil

He almost cried from fright after seeing his master's wrinkly face was extremely close beside him.

He opened his mouth and was about to talk when he was suddenly scooped up by his master's pair of scrawny old arms.

He was startled by the sudden action and felt that something was wrong with his master.

He saw his master hideously smiling to himself.

Chan's cute face turned pale and so he desperately attempted to free himself but was only able to wave his hands around.

He doesn't even have the strength to walk so how could he possibly escape from the tight grasp of the old man?

He was suffocated by the old man's strangling hug, he struggled as much as he can but it was all meaningless.

The old man's muscles were clearly stronger than his still undeveloped muscles. His face was full of despair when he heard the silent muttering of the old man.

"The ingredients were already mixed and combined with the elven remains, only the youthful and intelligent newborn child remains!"

Chan violently trembled in his arms, this time he could not withstand it any longer and pitifully cried.

"Uwaa... mother... master is bad... mother help me!"

The old man heard this but ignored him and continued to mutter to himself with a fanatical and insanely horrible voice.

"A Prophet Child... The potion is bound to have additional effects aside from its invigorating and youthful properties!"

He then continued to mutter to himself.

"Would I be able to become a Prophet once I drank the youth potion made from a Prophetic Child? Kuhahaha! I can't wait!"

His maniacal laugh was horrendously painful to the ears.

The despair that Chan felt was slowly rising as he was being carried by the old man to the fearsome boiling black pot.

The awful rotten stench of the unknown dead elf made Chan's babyface turn into a purple shade.

The old man arrived before the pot and he was being lifted in the air while looking at him with excited and fanatic gaze, then he was back on the old man's arms again.

Chan's face further despaired and his large golden eyes became dull and lifeless as if he had completely given up on his life.

He stopped his futile attempt of struggling and let the old man write the various runic inscription on his skin.

It was an extremely painful process but the baby did not even utter a single groan, it was obvious that he had already accepted his tragic fate.

The old man finished the inscription and the once pristine and supple skin of Chan were now full of bloody red mystical inscriptions.

The old man looked at him with satisfied eyes and lifted him up above the boiling hot black pot.

Then the old man let go of the hands holding the baby, the body of Chan was slowly plunging into the boiling white soup when he suddenly felt a pair of warm hands snatching him from mid-air.

Chan had his eyes closed all this time thus he had yet to see the one who had saved him from the pits of hell.

He slowly opened his eyes with a bit of hope, he was praying to himself that it wasn't the old man that was pranking him.

His large golden eyes were met with a pair of snow-white eyes, the gaze they held towards him was extremely warm and comforting.

He could not see the face of his mysterious savior but judging from the slender hands that held him, it must be like her mother he innocently thought.

He was curiously examining his savior when he suddenly felt a springlike breeze gently caressing his cheeks.

He was feeling sleepy all of a sudden, his eyelids felt heavy but he held himself back from sleeping.

That's when he heard the gentle voice of the woman saying.

"It's okay. You can sleep now. I will protect you."

His drowsiness took over and he finally drifted off to his sweet dreams.

The old man's prized possession was snatched by an unknown intruder right in front of his eyes.

His face crumbled and he gave a cold glare towards the hooded figure, he opened his mouth and said in a threatening voice.

"How dare you snatch the ingredient I've procured?! Do you know whom you're offending by snatching that thing from me?!"

The hooded figure remained silent while she was carefully holding the silently sleeping child in her arms.

The figure did not even look at him and merely said in a cold and emotionless voice.

"I don't care who you are because in my eyes, you're nothing but an insect that I could kill as long as I will it."

The old man heard this and felt that he would snap he angrily laughed at her and said.

"Ha! How laughable! You are extremely arrogant but I wonder if you would be able to keep your arrogance after you eat one of my concoctions."

The old man then reached his hand to thin air and made a grabbing motion before a few pieces of potion bottles suddenly appeared in his hands.

These bottles had varying colors like that of a beautiful 7-colored rainbow.

He maliciously cackled and threw the bottles in his hands towards the hooded figure.

The figure was still holding the baby in her arms but she was able to dodge the bottles nimbly and could even do a graceful jump in the air.

The old man was shocked and angered at the same time, he saw his bottles flew past her with not even a single one hitting her.

The bottles were about to hit the wooden shelf on the wall that had bottles with unknown contents.

They then hit each other not long later and broke into countless pieces of glass shards, the contents of the bottle were all spilled and scattered in the impacted area.

The unknown colorful liquids were mixing together and they produced a bone-chilling sizzling sound as a result.

The black ground, black wall, and even the ceiling were being rapidly corroded by the horrifying colorful liquids.

The old man did not stop after he saw this and even continued to throw more bottles at the hooded figure who gracefully dodge each of his throws.

It was as if the mysterious woman was just taking a walk in the park as she jumped around the room with a baby in her hands.

This throw and evade lasted for a whole minute until the old man eventually got impatient, he had already thrown at least a hundred of his poisonous concoctions, and not even a single bottle had hit the slippery figure's cloak.

The black underground room was in a total mess and the various wooden shelves and tables were all destroyed with his own hands.

He was extremely angry, the things that he had destroyed were all extremely precious and it took him a long time to collect them and yet they were all destroyed by their fight.

His alchemical concoction was interrupted and was now on the verge of failing as the white liquid inside the black pot was slowly turning into a darker shade.

That means that the resentment of the dead elf was slowly taking over the process, he could not afford to waste any more of his time thus he took something out of his alchemical(dimensional) space.

It was a small exquisite bottle that contained a few drops of something black, they look like black blood but were not as thick as normal blood.

He hatefully glared at the mysterious woman opened his mouth and viciously said.

"You only know how to dodge and not fight, if it were a normal time I would've entertained you but I am in the midst of my concoction and have no time to waste on you!"

The hooded figure remained silent and the old man continued.

"I had no plans to use this until I consumed the youth potion but you leave me with no choice! You can only blame yourself for needlessly meddling in my affairs!"

With that he popped open the small bottle and an extremely malevolent air immediately wafted out of it, the woman felt the dangerous aura from it thus she adapted a cautious attitude.

She couldn't let her guard down in front of something that could threaten her.

She could also not stop the old man from doing anything as she did not even know what that thing was.

Then under her cautious gaze, the old man swiftly raised the bottle to his mouth and drank all of the black liquid inside.

The old man let out a satisfied burp and he gave her a mocking look before his expression suddenly froze, not long later he screamed painfully.

It was as if his skin was being bitten by countless ants, his old and wrinkly skin slowly turned red, his back and his temple suddenly felt itchy as if something was wriggling inside.

He fiercely scratched them alternatively until they bled, his red blood was darker than a normal person's.

Then under the shocked gaze of the mysterious woman, white bones suddenly came out of his temples, the bones were extremely sharp like a knife.

The 'bones' were still coming out of his temples and they were slowly twisting, their tips were pointed towards the ceiling, they grew for a few inches more before they ultimately stopped.

This was not the end though, because she suddenly heard the old man scream yet again, and this time something was coming out of his back.

White bones were slowly coming out of his back as well, they were forming into a pair of bone wings that had an intricate pattern like that of a bat but quite not.

The bony wings were extremely horrible to look at without flesh or skin covering them.

The old man is still old but the difference is that his skin had turned red and now had a pair of devilish horns and wings.

The mysterious woman was shocked because of the changes that he displayed in front of her eyes.

She muttered to herself.

"This... impossible! He looks exactly like the infamous red devils of the past! How is this possible?! They should've gone extinct already so how is it possible for him to become one?!"

Then she saw the red devil's closed eyes slowly opened, and what came out of it wasn't the usual human eyes but a pair of red irises and black eyes.

Then the devil slowly squinted his eyes, he maliciously smiled and said in a malevolently sultry voice.

"Oho~ I am finally back! My dearest Dystopia I have missed you! Kuhahaha!"
