Chapter 44 - Administrator and Chan's Past (2)

A huge manifestation of golden eyes hung above them that shone with bright wisdom lights, it's as if those eyes could see through anything, be it illusions or fate itself.

It did not last long as it was absorbed back to the little body of the newborn Chan.

The whole merchant caravan was shocked.

His parents were shocked.

The whole of Endless Desert was shocked.

The continent had gone into turmoil with just that single shocking phenomenon.

It was because that was a sign of The Prophet Child being born in this world!

These children would be born with unparalleled intelligence and spiritual wisdom, able to talk immediately and learn things with just a single look.

One would only know that their talents are out of this world, and if they were able to completely mature, they would gain the ability to peek through the clocks of fate and change their destiny at the cost of their own lifespan.

But his parents nor the people around him did not know of this and only treated this phenomenon as weird.

After all, Prophet Childs were rarely born in peaceful eras, them being born in the world only means that there's an upcoming tumultuous era looming around Dystopia.

The merchant caravan continued to travel around the desert without them knowing that various powerful people were scurrying over to their position.

Chan's big golden eyes looked at his parents with curiosity.

His parents were excitedly talking to themselves about what had happened earlier, their voices extremely joyful because they felt that their son might become someone extraordinary in the future.

Chan could understand what they were saying and it was because of his Prophet Child Constitution that he could understand the language they were saying.

He instinctively followed the mouth of his parents and uttered cute yet somehow incoherent sounds.

"Ahhh...Chan"

He then laughed after saying those words.

Both of his parents were shocked by this, her mother's eyes were glowing brightly and immediately said in response.

"That's right! You are Ah Chan! Your Name is Ah Chan!"

"Ah Chan.."

His mother clearly heard him and she shrieked happily because of this while his father still wore a face full of shock.

His parents thought to themselves that they had indeed given birth to a genius son and they could not hold themselves back from kissing his face repeatedly, making Chan giggle with happiness.

From that day on, he would always be bought by his parents whenever they wanted to go outside.

They would endlessly brag about his high intelligence and his ability to talk despite him being only a newborn.

He knew that they were happily bragging about him and did not care about this at all, as long as he saw his parents happy then he would feel happy too.

The endless bragging of his parents reached far and wide, this also attributed to their caravan merchants gossiping in each town or city they've visited.

Almost everyone in the Endless Desert knows of a merchant caravan having a peculiar child that could talk after being born.

The famous people of the continent that were looking for them had also heard of these circulating rumors, thus they tacitly reached a consensus and traveled in one to search for the said merchant caravan.

They were extremely numerical and each of them famous in their own fields, some of them were famous magicians, some were famous sages, etc...

Those famous people traveled in person just to meet Chan and accept them as his master.

But there's a mysterious visitor who was the fastest among the others, that visitor immediately traveled from the Central Mysterious Continent to the Endless Desert Continent just after the phenomena was shown in the sky.

That visitor was extremely fast in her tracks, she sliced through the skies and had managed to arrive at the Western Continent a day later.

The mysterious visitor had managed to sneak into their caravan room, making the mother and father of Chan feel shocked by her sudden intrusion.

The visitor was tall and wore a black heavy cloak, they could only see her slender hands from her sleeves.

They couldn't see her appearance and only felt that she was extremely unfathomable.

The mother cautiously asked the woman.

"Who are you? Why did you barge in here?"

The woman in black cloak replied and said in a cold yet pleasant voice.

"I want to recruit your son as my disciple."

She directly stated her purpose and did not talk any further as if she was waiting for their reply.

His parents looked thoughtful and they glanced at each other before coming to an agreement.

They did not agree to her offer, they were adopting a wait and see attitude, they thought that with how capable their son was, there's bound to be a lot of people flocking around them just to recruit their son and they planned to pick the strongest and wealthiest among them.

They did not even know how strong the woman before them, thus they politely declined her offer with an apologetic tone and said.

"Thank you for your offer Miss, but we don't want to part with our son yet, although he is extremely intelligent he's still a baby in our eyes, and he needs the care of us his parents."

The mysterious woman was silent for a moment before she said in a nonchalant tone.

"That's fine as well, I'll come back to pick him up after his 5th birthday."

She immediately left and did not even leave anything behind, it was obvious that she trusted that he could grow up safely.

Who would even dare to touch him here when his death would only affect the whole world?

She was obviously sitting in front of them, yet the woman had suddenly disappeared like a mist.

His parents did not even manage to ask her for her name before she disappeared, they sighed and went back to their sleep.

The next day, they were woken up with the hustle and bustle happening outside their small tent.

His father annoyingly opened the tent and was shocked at what greeted him outside.

In front of him was an uncountable number of people talking and arguing to themselves, the people had varying appearances, ages, and genders, they all formed an extremely long line in front of their tent.

He was shocked so he doubtfully asked.

"W-what is happening here?! Who are you people?!"

The man in front of him came to him, the man wore an extremely polite smile and flatteringly said.

"Are you perhaps the father of the rumored Prophet Child?" he wore a dazzling smile on his face.

Chan's father was taken aback and immediately asked.

"What Prophet Child?" his voice sounding extremely confused and it was obvious that he had no idea of the child that the man was talking about.

The dazzling smile of the man also froze for a moment before patiently explaining.

"The Prophet Child is someone who can foresee certain parts of the future, they were typically born with silver hair and golden eyes and newborn prophet child's are also highly intelligent and would immediately have the ability to talk."

"It was said that your child had similar appearance and characteristics to that of a prophet child, isn't this the case?"

The man sounded a bit doubtful at the end of his explanation.

In the first place, they were here because they were interested to recruit their son as their disciple.

Chan's father heard this and felt extremely elated so he hurriedly led them inside their tent to let them see his son.

"Look, that's my son over there."

Chan's father pointed at a newborn boy with short silver hair, maybe the baby was awakened by the ruckus thus he groggily opened his eyes.

The group had immediately confirmed that he was indeed the Prophet Child.

One of the people inside couldn't hold back anymore and said to the father.

"Can I become the master of this child?! I will nurture him like how I should with my own child!"

The others didn't want to lose out thus they simultaneously shouted different promises to them that this made the head of the helpless parents hurt.

They could only lead them back outside and instruct them to line up and they would interview each of them.

Thus the interview lasted for a few weeks before the parents had finally found a suitable candidate to become the master of their child.

The one that they chose was a scrawny old man that wore an exquisite long black robe, he had a wrinkly old face and skin, and long gray hair.

He was a tower master known for his extraordinary feats and heroic achievements, because of this they immediately agreed to let the old man become their son's master.

They had completely forgotten the promise that they had made with the mysterious hooded woman last night.

The old man was extremely happy and immediately thanked them while sneakily handing them a few pouches of platinum gold coins.

The parents were shocked by his generous gestures and 'shyly' declined but the old man insisted thus they could only 'reluctantly' agree and took the pouches from his hands.

They were reluctant to part with their child but they had already done the deed thus they could only send their son with his master.

They were stiffly waving smiling while sending their son off, the mother had red eyes and it was obvious that she had regretted giving away their son.
