Chapter 4 - What it is written

The family dinner lasted already, and each one went to their rooms after that but not for lady Adelaide. She walked through corridors, praising the affluence luxury from their lovely mansion. Adelaide decided to have a warm-up the reason for that she was famished.

Taking every step from the main hall, an enormous crystal crown hanging from the high ceiling glowing luminosity. From the main lobby, Hannah appears carrying a bouquet in a basket. Her eyes trailed off from the young lady wandering calmly, and as Hannah rushed to greet her, Adelaide was in relief as she saw her maid again.

" My Lady, how is your day? Has His Highness treated nicely?" Hannah lowered her head. Adelaide crossed her hands in her chest.

" Oh my, where have you been these past hours? How are you after leaving your Liebe meister," her face tittered in a threatening way? Hannah jolted in fear wanting to leave and scream for help, and as Adelaide's palm rested on her shoulder, she only gave her a devilish smile across her lips.

" What will be the punishment be?" Adelaide chuckled her hand's trail over Hannah's shoulder. A small ' eek ' from Hannah's lips attempting to get away from her master's trap.

'This is it. If the Heinrich is the devils, then I may say Miss Adelaide is more than a devil itself!' " Please spare me, My lady, I don't want that! I beg," her eyes pleaded in despair. " I will do anything rather than doing that," but Hannah only failed to do so, and it was hopeless after all.

" We will have a good time Hannah," Adelaide's evil laugh made the maid taunts her for a million nightmares.

────────────────── 🥀 In Adelaide's Room ─────────────────

Half an hour already passes.

The maid sits in a low crouching position bending and keeping her heels from the ground intact; Hannah's hand in the front holding a tray of a tea set. Few books balanced from the top of the head and leaning with the effort. Adelaide sits beside the window gazing at the maid and smugs.

" My lady... I-I apologize...wahhhhh," Hannah whined from her aching back and heels, looking at her master's eyes with a puppy look. Eyes sparkled with pleading and as if she was telling her to free the poor maid. It has been half an hour ever since Hannah has been starting squatting.

" Is the tea warmly nice, right?" relishing the tea it served, Adelaide takes her moment. She can see Hannah has been struggling to bend, not to mention the books and tray she put. Adelaide feels remorseful with a conscience, and it was a hint of loss. 'The power of begging in this maid is over the peak,' Adelaide reckoned.

" Fine. You may pardon yourself, and have a Good night," her hands wavered to command it is now the time to rest. The maid brings low the tray and books as she falls through the ground having a rest. Her thighs were agonizing, and it would take a few days for it to fade the aching muscles.

" Thank you... My Lady... Whew," she sighed in relief, supporting her back to stand.

" Ah, I remember, I bring a bouquet for you, My Lady," Hannah recalls the flower she bought an hour ago, where she put in the main lobby on the floor. " That bouquet you bring? May I know where you got those?" she questioned in wonder.

" I found it when I escorted Miss Violet in the Gates and we saw a person running quickly after we both discovered the flowers," Hannah speculated, remembering what she noticed.

It was unbelievable to hear. Adelaide is not sure what the flowers indicate, and Even if it was an admirer of her, she can't still accept such things as she now betrothed.

" Get the bouquet, I want to know what that was," she commanded, and Hannah lowers her head as she went outside.

Adelaide sighed with restlessness, and the House of Heinrich had made her mind stressed out just in a day. Wanting to breathe the fresh air, she stood up from her chair and went to her wardrobe, furthermore started to strip the gown alone. It was not a hassle for her to undress the corset. Her fair skin touches the silk falling from the ground. A body of art was like a sculpted body made from a sculptor itself!

Adelaide slowly set aside the heavy pieces of jewelry made from her sorcery, and as her hair descends like a falls, brushing her silky hair with a comb slowly.

Wearing a blue piece of comfy nightgown, she looks at herself from the mirror. Such Innocent beauty she possesses. Oh, how she wanders why the Crown Prince hadn't still fallen from her charm.

She was never inadequate in such things. Adelaide always assumes Louis had shown ways of affection. But it was false. Even if there is a vow they had promised, even if their trust were greater. Adelaide always wanted to feel the Crown Prince's love romantically.

Knock. Knock. Knock. Knock. Knock

Hannah knocks in rhythm " My Lady, I have the bouquet, May I come in?" her voice shouted as to hear her lady's call. Adelaide stopped her thoughts, flinching from the quick arrival after she listened to the maid's knock.

" Come In!" she shouted from the closet, and the door creaks open from the heavy door.

Carrying the basket of the bouquet, Hannah saw her lady already dressed in a nightgown. Hannah admired the elegance of her aesthetic appearance, such beauty of the above sent from the gods! Taking closer to her lady's wardrobe as she hands out the basket to her.

Adelaide examines the bouquet as if something suspicious in the flowers.

" Such expensive pile of a bouquet, this type of flowers are not something to be easily sold. Seeing the quality, only the wealthiest noble person can obtain," interest piques from the bouquet, it was a rose-like bloom with white colors, radiant glossy petals, and a lemony fragrance. A name of hers printed with glitters.

" I shall take my leave, Have a good night and rest well my lady." her heads bows, as she were tired and pain tormenting her back. Adelaide nodded her head in approval. Hannah takes her to leave the room and bowed one last time.

Adelaide is now alone again, the moon ever so glowing pale yellow, showed high, beset by an empyreal radiance from her window. Analyzing the bouquet she received, a black paper falls like a leaf in a tree. Landed in her sheets gently, Adelaide quickly picks up the piece. A word shines luminously from the paper, looking at the message's mouth agape.

" Camellia blooms in once a moon, the goddess of the night comes to pick up. 'Bewitch' from its innocent charm, gifted the flower an everlasting radiant. When the night seizes the day, and while the great luna appears in the sky of its majestic grandeur. The blooming flower of Nyx shall radiate with brilliance." reading out the sentences one by one, a voice speaking out huskily. The letter has marked in some words.

' However, what does the letter supposed to mean? Does the sender want to tell me about the flower? It is indeed a brilliant flower. However, there is something it bothers me. It stated, " The blooming flower of Nyx shall radiate with brilliance." The flower will glow in the night? '

Adelaide reads out the same sentence, again and again, pacing off from her near the window. The flower's fragrance went stronger, and her eyes lingered on the bouquet, where it peacefully lay. The moon's ray of light reflects from a flower, and as it begins to glow. A glittering bit from the flower's nectars began to drift.

A Luminous flower has amazed her, yet it was rather unusual and rare to see a flower glow the whole room. Adelaide went closer, heart thumping loudly in excitement until she noticed the black invitation she received from Heinrich from the edge of her bed.

She stretched out her hands to get the card, her nerves shaken but seeing the flowers glow gracefully, Adelaide's nervous demeanour went calmer like a flowing stream. Taking a deep breath in and out, she slowly opens the black card. After opening up the card, a paper continued to print itself, and her name was there.

" Greetings, My Lady Adelaide Eilberts.

I humbly invited you to my elegant tea party of Heinrich in the Duke's Estate of Freihausen Manor. As it is my highest honor to serve the famous Adelaide, and as I hope we will be on good terms. And I would love to be a friend to you. I do look forth to our meeting, my lady.

My utmost respect, Lady Clara Ediline Heinrich."

Reading the paper she received. Adelaide was in relief. She would assume black magic has tampered with the card, yet it was only a simple card with a paper written by an automatic spell to hide its content.

Adelaide lays her back from the comfy bed, and she was now already tired from the day. The luminescent flower from an unknown person has made Adelaide's pressured mind became clear. Somehow she was happy and grateful for it and promised to take care of the flower dearly.

Adelaide drifted her eyes to sleep from her dreamscape.
