Chapter 35 - Chapter 31: System of the Scripturient's League

[ Greetings, Team Sloth

You have read all of your current ratings. Please read carefully, no need to worry. You can always read this again, this is just a notification for you to know the system of the Scripturient's League competitions.

To level up, you must participate in every competition, meet the requirement and deadlines. Please be mindful of the deadlines and what we instructed, the Scripturient's League is keen on the deadlines.

Every writing competition is by teams or individuals, it could be 1 versus 1 with a writer or all team versus team. All rewards and bonuses vary.

In an individual competition:

Writer A is the representative in Team Writer A on individual competition. Writer A is competed by Writer B from Team Writer B.

If one of the parties wins, it could level their stats. As mentioned before, rewards and bonuses vary in every competition.

E.g : Writer A wins and has 50+ points and the rest of the Team Writer A has 10+ points each as their level boost.

If one of the parties loses, it could pull their stats down. This applies to the team versus team competition however the team versus team could help a boost.

In team competitions:

Team Writer A is competed by Team Writer B.

Just as the same of individual competitions, rewards and bonuses will vary.

E. g The team winner is given 100+ points, each team writer has 20+.

If the Team Writer losses, each member was deducted by 20 points from their stats.

If the event competition offered to have a typing competition, the reward goes to the WPM stats bar.

If the event competition offered to have writing a one-story concept on the spot and provide one story chapter, the reward goes to the Creativity stat bar.

All the event competitions would be thought by the Scripturient's League. The event competitions would notify what boost level bar is benefited.

Scripturient's League Tip: You can level up your boost bar by participating in games and daily tasks. All games could be added by 20+

For instance:

Participating in a typing game could level your WPM with 20+ points.

Scripturient's League Note: All rewards and bonuses vary in every competition, only playing games and daily task can give you the default points of 20+ to be added on your stats as a writer.

Do not be discouraged if your Team or you, as a writer will lose points. The Scripturient's League believes that every writer will get back on its feet. For that reason, the finalization of your level-up stats will always be on the Scripturient's Epoch.

The finalized level-up stats will be on the day.

What is Scripturient's Epoch?

Epoch means a period of time in history. This could be the time for some writers to rise or need to improve with tremendous effort. This is the week of who'll be leveled up for the ranking in a Team. All writers would be notified each in their room of whom will level up to other Team Rank Writers or who'll remain on the rank or choose to leave the Scripturient's League.

From what we have gathered, most Scripturient writers want it to announce in their respective rooms. Scripturient's League cares about the Scripturient's writers' opinions and thus implemented it, This could help writers to feel not ashamed of the ratings.

For other questions, you can always reply and message Scripturient's League ]

We exited the notification as we finished reading.

"Damn, I'm scared as I read about the individual." Kim shuddered. "I mean if you lose points, the rest of the team is affected"

"It's like you are carrying the team on your shoulders," Kim added as he hugged himself, trembling.

A sudden screen notified.

[ Team Sloths,

You have 1 hour to finish your one-shot story entry. If you are all done and confident to meet your competitor. Please click submit. If you need time to extend, click 10 minutes.

Extend (10 minutes) Submit ]

We all exchanged looks and nodded, Quan Chi click extend.

[Team Sloths,

Once you are all notified that time is up, proceed to the stadium to meet the other competitors. Best of luck, Team Sloths ]

And the 10-minute hologram appeared and started counting.

9:59..

9:58..

9:57..

"So, a-are you all. Wait, let me calm down" Kim said and took a deep breath.

"Anyway, are you all sure that this concept is good? I don't have confidence as I read that notification earlier from the Scripturient's League" Kim said. "I mean, the cyberpunk setting is good but the notification earlier lowered my confidence"

"Let's change the origin of the story and set it back before the present time" Jin tofu commented.

"I think, it wouldn't be interesting enough if the first line of the story is set in back before the present time"

"I agree with Sasori. Every reader should be hooked on the first paragraph. According to a study, I have read, the attention span of a reader or a person only lasts for 8 seconds. It's better if we hook them on the first two lines" Quan Chi said. His eyes were on the hologram screen, reading the lines.

"Oh, I see" Kim said and nodded as he scrolled back on his hologram screen and read.

"How about it, XiaoCheng? Was the idea of first-line paragraph enough?"Sasori asked. I read the first and the next line.

"It would be better if the lines were dialogues and then put the part of where Phantom said that this is where all began. It would be great on the last part of the story since this is one-shot story"

'And you think it's unique?' Jin asked. I nodded.

"But how? It would leave the readers confused"

"I don't think so. As you can read, we wrote the character's life in the second to the third paragraph. The all in one grasp of the story."

"But how did you know it's the grasp of the story when it's not in detail?" Jin asked, brows furrowed.

"That's the key" I replied. "Trust me, readers of mine was hooked on my prologue"

And the sound of a 10-minute beep filled the room.

"It's time!" Sasori said as we walked out of the room.
