Delun wore a sullen expression as he slipped out of the room, playing as if Karmalin scolded him for accepting the Drug case.
"What is that?" Bo asked, his heart trembled, and a branch of umbrage pinned to his head.
Approaching, he answered, "You must go inside! He allowed us to interfere with the case." That pouted mouth shifted to a grin. Bo cursed and got by him.
He felt the sweat on his palm, shoved it away by his coat, grabbing the door handle... he entered the room. Karmalin welcomed him again.
Bo was nervous because William, the memory reader fay already had told him everything. He sat on the chair near the table, rubbing his eyes from Karmalin for avoiding any eye contact, shifting them on the tools and a big leather notebook on the table that was his daily records as if a diary.
"Sir, I am at your disposal." Bo said.
"Last night you did well, son! I was worried that what would be your reaction toward this matter but you remained here." A genteel smile was pictured on his face.
Bo didn't expect that the manager give him a piece of compliment but he truly thought about it when his head felt that soft pillow of feathers.
He thought about running away but as he imagined the end; his eyes rolled on Delun and Enammer then things changed, remembering, his brother, Fai, and their mother, these were the reasons that he didn't escape.
"How can I control it, sir? Just a perfused memory dragged us to the heart of danger. What if I unintentionally transfer this academy over the shield?"
"I will have someone to teach you to control your mind. Then I would train your mind." The manager explained.
Bo heaved a breath out of relief as long as Karmalin was this ironic everything was fine and they could overcome the swaying troubles that were hovering overheads. Anytime, he wore a crimson robe on his black uniform it meant that he was content about something.
"Would the hunter tell the parliament?"
This matter was a serious element and all those who hid it could be considered guilty by the shrines, thus, he was worried about him, being in those hands that could be sharp-claws and tear him apart, it wasn't easy. They didn't care about him being useful as long as they could replace the young fay with another one.
"He won't. William is the prince's devotee, his eyes and his mind. He called us through his mind, trust him."
"What about the others? We insulted them and they saw that I was beyond the shield."
"They are supposed to report the information to Prince Edward and he would attach a bit of filter and announce them."
But how long the prince could handle these things? Those people also can claim and drag him down and replace him with Richard.
Karmalin drew a small box to his side.
"Open it. It belongs to you." He got up from the chair as the young man picked the box and opened it.
The golden queen card was glowing inside it.
"How did they give it back?"
"They handed it to Prince Edward and he brought it back to its owner." Karmalin strode to a door in his room and added, "Cleanse your mind and focus. There are many devils in this world wearing beauteous masks."
"I tried and succeeded to use it."
"Yes, I know and you brought a good friend to me." The door moved away and a slender man entered.
Wearing a red leather mask on his face his suit as black as raven feathers. His long leather coat almost reached the grounds and he couldn't forget those shining polished Oxford shoes. As he smirked, the leather on his face wrinkled and those yellow eyes tightened.
He was still exactly similar to the old days as if time didn't kick him nor even sensed him being there.
"Hello, Bo Wong!"
"You, that was real!" Bo was shocked. Last night the car screen changed to his image between the audience and he thought that was just a mistake because he opened the queen card but…
"Hi, sir!" he remembered to greet him.
"I see that the queen card caused you trouble." He said, walking forward, his stick had the golden head of the wolf, he removed his hat, and sat on the chair in front of him. His gloved hand laid on each other, resting on the wolf's head.
Bo was peering at him and his brain wasn't ready to progress his presence.
"No, it saved Delun from the vampire juggler." Bo said.
"So, that's well! I heard your summon. What made you sad about having that gift? Your father was honored that his son got blessings from gods." The juggler leaned back.
"He knew it?" An electric shock crept through his fingers and grew ahead, rooted until reached his toes. In addition, Karmalin marveled too.
Commander Wong never had hidden something from him but how neglected and concealed such an important matter.
"Yes! I told him the day we met at the border. Maybe he had reasons to hide it. I noticed that Lashuka's blockage had broken and your mind is free now."
Blockage, or curse he blurted the word curse.
The juggler burst into a peal of heavy laughter and Karmalin grinned.
"Was it funny, sir? I can't laugh at it."
The werewolf magician turned his face to Karmalin and said, "The thing that you call curse had saved your head. Lashuka had inherited his powers from his parents and they aren't devils. Didn't you tell him, am I right, Karmalin?"
Shaking his head, the old fay denied.
He sighed and got up from the chair, nearing the window, looking down the yard, the juggler growled, "You always rely upon hard things to me, old man."
"You witnessed his power, you know him better than anyone does because you raised him until being ten years old! Now it is time to move your tongue and tell us who exactly he is." Karmalin went serious, sitting on his chair, wrung his fingers together.
"Who we are talking about, indeed?" Bo asked those sort of words wasn't Vogue for him and were vaguer because it was between them and Bo couldn't see the past like William.
