Vhelian had no expectations as to how the Duke would react. For all he knew, the Duke was already aware of the situation and merely didn't bother informing Vhelian.
Unbeknownst to the young man, the news retained its novelty.
The Duke took a moment to process the news. His gaze then fell on the two men behind his son. He couldn't recognize them despite being acquainted with the majority of Nobles. If they were able to enter the Audience Hall, it must mean that the two men were far up the hierarchy.
"And who might these two be?" The Duke asked, "Are they the ones who gave you the news?"
"Yes, My Lord. They're the ones sent by Count Gerveschten. The Gerveschten Fief has reached a point where they need the Emperor's help to contain the disease."
Right then, the two men bowed their heads. But they couldn't do anything further. They couldn't even open their mouths now that they're in the presence of the Duke.
"Vhelian, would you mind?"
