"Curse? But the Duke is a highly powerful Sorcerer? Who could possibly put a curse on him without him knowing."
Horcus scoffed at how innocent Gover sounded. It was one thing in itself to be aware of his master's capabilities. However, Horcus wished for Gover to be sentient that there were many Sorcerers who were far more powerful than the Duke.
Such carelessness could eventually lead to an irreversible mistake. If worse came to worst, that very mistake could cost the Duke's life.
"Gover, whether the Duke is strong or not, there are people that will find ways, jump at any method, just to be able to harm the Duke. His Excellency has made enemies far and wide."
Gover lowered his head, ashamed as he recalled the words that came out of his mouth earlier.
"I apologize. It might be because we haven't confronted any hostility as of late. We've been too lenient."
