Gover watched as the man disappeared into the door directly behind the desk. He didn't dare take a peek lest coming off as inquisitorial. Although, he did roam his gaze around the room to observe the interior.
Since the place was unfamiliar to him, Gover wanted to make sure that he would have an escape plan in case something happened.
'This place is full of books. The walls are filled with cabinets. There might be a secret compartment somewhere, but it's not like I can search for it.'
The soldier then leaned back on his seat and began massaging his temples.
"Why did they have to take my weapons? I'm not some barbarian who will just attack anyone in sight." He muttered under his breath, feeling the stress of the situation slowly catch up to him.
