Ilya skipped her way back to the well.
Halfway into her walk, Sorsiana's scream pierced her ears. Instead of being annoyed, Ilya was delighted about what she was hearing.
"Yes, yes that's it. Scream until your throat is all bloody." Ilya cheered, but her smile soon faded.
The mirth on her countenance was replaced by her indifference. Her steps soon came to a halt. Ilya's breathing began to hasten, tears flooded the rims of her eyes. She hunched forward, feeling the urge to vomit.
The lady quickly covered her mouth and ran to the well. She immediately fetched water using a musty old bucket. Her hands were trembling as she lowered the bucket, so she let the rope go.
"Why? Why am I feeling like this?"
Ilya sat on the ground and hugged her knees. A surge of emotions had assaulted her out of the blue. She didn't know what to do, much less knew what was happening.
