After consecutive failures, Aectaeon decided to distance himself from Vernos for a short while. He felt his strength leave his body which was not ideal for his current situation.
Aectaeon was heaving heavily, sweating as if he had just run a ten-kilometer marathon under the raging summer sun without stopping. The thirst he was feeling was beyond anything that he had encountered before.
If things continued in that manner, he would be needing an entire sea's worth of water just to quench his thirst.
Accompanying his exhaustion was the throbbing pain from his wounds. His body was also telling him to cease since he's near to collapsing.
But, as expected, Aectaeon ignored all the signals that his body was sending.
After all, he just needed to escape this predicament. Once victory was in his hands, he would be back to the Obelisk, fully recovered and ready to take on another challenge.
