Mr Osbourn was completely and absolutely taken aback by the criticism from his son and more so from Mr Regan himself.
Regan was someone he had come to respect for his business acumen and foresight. But to hear such words about himself from his idol was an injury to an insult.
Did they all think he was a bad parent? But isn't this how one raises their children?
"You cannot indulge them" his father had told him the first time he gave in to his children's wishes. "They are the future leaders. They have to learn to live under discipline. The one who gives in to his emotions can never lead his pack well." His father had taught him.
He had always lived under self-regulation, - "I control my destiny…others can't influence it." This was the maxim he had lived by and this is what he wanted his children to learn.
