Chapter 7 - Magic Rainbow

Imogen gave a sardonic smile. Her crimson coloured iris glinted beneath her spiky hair which shaded her forehead from the sun. The emerald green ring she wore around her left fore finger also glinted.

"Can say the same for you as well, it's about time. The Adventurer's camp is starting next week. Must be why the alchemists' freaks came after you."

"You cut your hair to a spiky. Kinda fits your archetype ye…"

Imogen jumped down from the rock and landed infront of Moirai, cutting his statement off.

"And what may that archetype be hmm?" She looked Moirai in the eye viciously.

"Well…scary, powerful!"

"Hmm."

"Ah, here's Yvonne. She's the mirage and newest member of our team." Moirai turned away from Imogen as he changed the subject of their discussion.

Imogen looked at Yvonne more closely, making Yvonne feel tetchy at someone she suspected would easily pick fights.

"I…"

"Good to see you Yvonne!" Imogen stretched her hand to shake Yvonne's. Yvonne let out an "oh", and shook Imogen's hand before Imogen then put an arm around her.

"Common now, let's leave the douche alone. I'm sure you've already found him annoying, you shouldn't have gone through the trouble of meeting a fennel so soon. Hope it didn't do anything to you though!"

"Hey! I'm right here you know!" Moirai said to Imogen, now folding his arms.

"Oh I know. Wanted you to hear regardless. Bet Yui will rip out your head when she hears you're back. Then you'll know just how lenient I am. Now darling, why don't I show you around this place and tell you more about it and its inhabitants eh?"

Yvonne smiled at Imogen. She was the complete opposite of who she thought Imogen would be. She then gave Moirai the stinker.

"I still have to go take her to see Master Gabi before I can rele…"

Imogen also gave Moirai the stinker, squeezing her face wildly at him to cut him off before he raised his hands in the air.

"Oh have it your way then. I'll just go report to him first. When y'all are done, you can take her to him. Saya!" Moirai left with a saluting gesture as he made the exclamation, his trademark word.

Moirai went towards the back of the building to the tents area while Imogen led Yvonne around to the front area, chatting with her along the way and showing her the steam coming from a section of the rocks where the warm spring's stream flowed.

"So there's a volcano nearby?" Yvonne asked Imogen. She was more excited now than she had been since the evening she met the fennel.

"Well, it's deep underground about a mile away. A narrow underground river flows around it and through the rocks up." Imogen moved her mouth closer to Yvonne's ear. "I've seen it!"

Yvonne's eyes lit up. "You entered there?"

"Hmnm!" Imogen hummed contently at Yvonne's bewilderment with her eyes closed and her hands folded behind her head.

"Ha-how?" Yvonne asked. Her interest in Yvonne's speech was now increasing.

"There's a lot magic can do you know, if you know the right spells and have just the right amount of power.

They entered the forest of tall trees infront of the house. The nearest branches with enough leaves were more than twenty meters high.

See…" Imogen stretched her right hand out and let her palm face up. She said something in a language Yvonne didn't understand and suddenly a ball of crystal clear water started forming on her palm. Yvonne, stunned at what she was seeing, leaned closer to get a better look.

"Whoa!" Yvonne exclaimed with a calm wildness that made Imogen chuckle.

"That's not all!" Imogen lightly threw the ball of water upwards, and it slowly rose up until it reached the height of some of the branches closer to the ground that were still as high as twenty meters. Yvonne watched the ball closely to see what was going to happen.

The ball disintegrated and spread little droplets of water in a large arc that was almost completely round and about fifty meters wide. Then, a brilliant rainbow appeared and shone in the arc, its magnificence even more alluring under the shade of the trees.

Yvonne just stood where she was, awestruck at the sight as she took it in while Imogen herself got lost in her creation.

"It's…it's beautiful…" Yvonne managed to get some words out of her mouth while still looking on. She peaked at Imogen when she didn't get any response only to see even Imogen herself was lost in the sight. She returned to her admiration of the rainbow.

'Won't be that bad to skip few days of school to learn this will it?' Yvonne thought to herself.

"There she is, with her flare for the so spectacular!" A girl with pink hair and a out the same age as Yvonne and Imogen said from their left-side up. She was standing with another girl of similar age, and black hair. Imogen and Yvonne snapped out of their trance to look at the talker.

"Oh hey Yui! And Cheryl!"
