He didn't attack, he just left.
First, he needs to look at that different kinds of things.
What will he witness on the others, if that guy is the only smallest one then that means he can't see more of it. Maybe something stronger and dangerous than it. Before attacking he needs a plan first, lucky enough they are sleeping.
It's better to survey the surrounding area first to check and avoid unnecessary circumstances he will have to face.
If he attacked this beast he might attract attention from stronger beings.
But on second thought he can just use his precognition ability to hide snd escape the incoming if they are ever attracted. The danger is if that beast has moves and skills to find him or detect wherever he may be once they saw him.
