Chapter 1 - Flame of Power [I]

Since time immemorial, there is a Red Flame existed that can grant its wielder absolute power over the supernatural world.

The flame was in the possession of a Human clan. The Patriarch has the ability to communicate with nature and bend its races to his will. It included the Fairies, Elves, and Forest Spirits.

In addition, the flame bestowed the power to suppress bloodlines upon him. This forced even the most powerful Vampires to bend and submit to his authority, despite Humans being weak, trivial existences in their eyes.

The gifts of the flame were far from complete, as the Human Patriarch's voice gained a mysterious, undeniable power. His voice now struck fear in the hearts of all Werewolves, even bent their knees of their commanders, the Lycan Alphas. Even the most fearsome Lycan, the Alpha Monarch who stood above them all, not spared.

Dominion over the sacred powers of light and darkness was the last blessing the flame granted. The Human Patriarch's righteous presence enhanced with an aura that no demon or angel could stand against to. They, too, had no choice but to surrender to him.

In view of the fact that to the Human Patriarch's existence as the wielder of the Red Flame, all other races strove to live in harmony. Thus, mortals came to learn the existence of the supernatural world, with the latter accepting them as well.

However, despite his power, the Human Patriarch swamped with responsibilities to uphold, such as protecting both worlds, and his most challenging being safeguarding the Human Clan.

Lycans and Werewolves are strong, prideful creatures. They only kneel to those who are stronger than them, and only if they're from their kind. Those individuals become known as their Alphas or Alpha Monarch. Under normal circumstances, they would never kneel to an outsider, no matter how strong they may be.

The Alpha Monarch, however, has always believed and respected the balance between the two worlds. And so, with his authority that was beyond all Alphas, he could restrain and command all the packs.

On the other side of the supernatural world, the Vampires and their Supreme Leader had different matters to settle. Their main and favorite food, human blood. As the Supreme Leader preferred order and will help maintain the balance, set up a consensual exchange system, whereby humans could offer their blood willingly, in exchange for favors, money, or other benefits.

Unfortunately, there came a day when the Fairies, Elves, Forest Spirits, Demons, and Angels did accept the truce no longer.

The races of the forest, the Elves, and Fairies, held hate for all of humanity. They destroyed nature in their quest for money-related increase, going as far as clearing out entire swathes of forests, and ruining the landscape to satisfy their endless greed.

The last straw, however, that Humans even kidnapped and enslaved members of all five clans, selling them for profit, even using them as they pleased for carnal reasons and otherwise.

Elves possess pride and self-importance that surpasses even Lycans and Werewolves. They only knelt to their one and only Chief, no one else. Hence, they were the race that was most eager to rip away the power and control that the Humans held over the supernatural world.

The Demon Clan relied on the negative emotions and the sins of humanity, such as pride, greed, lust, anger, gluttony, envy, and laziness. Which there was plenty for nourishment. All seven of the deadly sins formed the buffet that they partook in. In their eyes, Humanity is nothing more than food and playthings. The Demons could never accept being below them.

Although the Angels desired peace for their allies, the Humans, they could not bear to accept the supernatural world. The peaceful balance and 'harmony' in the supernatural world did not differ from shackles to them.

The Vampires and Lycans were the only races who respected and worked to uphold the balance, joining forces to protect the Human Clan. They recognized the flame and its holder, the Human Patriarch, as their master, and protector.

Coincidentally, the union of both clans established by a monumental marriage, born from the love that sprouted between the Lycans' Alpha Monarch and the Vampires' Supreme Leader.

The Alpha Monarch and the Supreme Leader saw each other as their mate. Both Clans saw them as a couple destined to be together.

With both clans of the supernatural world joining hands, their alliance would be invincible. However, there were members of both clans who objected to their union, such as those who secretly held romantic feelings toward their rulers.

The formalization of the union would take a few months to complete, giving enough time for those against the union to take any action.

The Fairies, Elves, and Demons took matters into their own hands, and with the help of the traitors of the Vampire and Lycan Clan, they knew how and when the preparations for such a union would be done.

The elders of both Vampire and Lycans Clans wanted to make use of the union for two purposes. The first was to take possession of the authority of the other clan, as the worth of their greed rose higher than their love for the Clan.

And second, to get the power to get rid of the humans, so that in the end the Flame of Power would belong to them, but similarly, as they could want it and covet it different clans of the supernatural world and the mortal world could do likewise.

There were two human clans that joined the 'cause' to dethrone the Human Patriarch's Clan, who had received the Red Flame's power.

The only ones who took neither side of the conflict were the Angels, who, saddened by how the situation had turned against everyone. Although they knew that after all this the supernatural world would take an unexpected turn and drive them into hiding, they did not intervene in the fight, or take part in it.

Those who were in favor were extremely excited because they would have in more power or because they would have it in benefit and those who were against were equally excited but because they would destroy an enemy or because they would get the power to control everything.

As the day of the union approached, a group of Fairies, Elves, Demons, and some humans infiltrated the place, hiding in various tents, houses, and small spaces, with the help of the traitors of the Vampire and Lycan clans.

On the day that the union was to be formalized, the place they choose was quite beautiful, but it would be the last beautiful scenery that many of those present would see for the rest of their lives.

In the end, all these Clans confronted each other in a great battle. The traitors of the Vampire and Lycan clans were the first to wreak havoc, stabbing the Elders of each Clan, who were in favor of the union.

Then those who infiltrated slaughtered the Human Clan of the Flame.

And the Human Patriarch, Master of the Red Flame, the Alpha Monarch, and the Supreme Leader, vanished without a trace.

The three of them could escape from all the havoc with the help of their clansmen. Since then, the Lycan's Clan and the Vampire's Clan thought that all this happened as a betrayal of the other clan.

As leading figures in their respective clans, from then on they hate each other.
