The crown Prince's men attacked the Duke's mansion and Prince Lu's residence simultaneously. The attack was quick and bloody, Madam Lu barely survived the attack. Two teams of the Crown Prince's men surrounded the gate, while another team scaled the wall and began to attack the servants and guards. Madam Lu was praying in the temple when Uncle Lu reported that the house was under attack.
Madam Lu quickly instructed the steward to get, Zhu Fengyin and Xiaoxuan out of the mansion and get them to safety. She handed the Lu family seal to the Steward with instructions that the seal be given to Zhu Fengyin. She waited for a few minutes after Uncle Lu left to get Zhu Fengyin to safety before rushing to Lu Yiling's courtyard, hiding behind statues, walls and trees to avoid getting captured by the attackers.
