The temperature inside the throne room rapidly rose as an ominous aura radiated from a single creature inside the clouds of dust, preventing everyone from freely moving.
'If King Paragus personally made those so-called indestructible force fields, then there is only one person on the First Floor who could break it in a blink of an eye.'
The Dark Lord fearlessly walked out from the clouds of dust while Liam was in the middle of his thought as if his secret master was confirming his assumption.
The Dark Lord's sudden arrival alone and unannounced in the heart of his enemy's base exhibited his fearlessness, but some might perceive it as foolishness as well.
But would that even matter in the Dark Lord's current rage?
Besides, everything came to a halt because of his Dark Lord's Authority's ability.
Not even the dutiful Paragon Knight Commander inside the chamber could make a step forward to protect its king from the tremendous adversary.
And the feeling of pure helplessness directly showed on Theon's face.
Pitter-patter, pitter-patter, pitter-patter...
Atrox's eyes emitted rising dark flames, glaring directly towards the flustered Light King as dark bloodcurdling clouds, producing dark lightning bolts, wild thunders, and vicious downpours, dreadfully hovered in the sky.
This development instantly reminded Liam of how the Dark Lord had almost thrashed his throne room into nothingness, despite doing his hardest to hold back.
But that was nothing compared to what he witnessed just now.
'So that's not even ten percent of his power back then?! Wait, what is he even doing here? This is bad. Things might not go according to my plan,' thought Liam, clinging to a wall after the explosion effortlessly sent him to the farthest back of the chamber.
"Light King Paragus!" Atrox bellowed, his thunderous voice almost shook the entire palace.
"Atrox, how bold... what brings you here?"
Paragus tried to remain calm, but his face's complexion failed to do so.
The Dark Lord's eyes went ablaze upon hearing those words coming out of the Light King's barren mouth.
Paragus maintained his steady posture while sitting on his throne.
Theon, the Paragon Knight Commander, came closer to his King as soon as the strange aura that came from the Dark Lord subsided.
He then started a silent conversation with him.
"Your Highness, the Dark Lord has come, and he came alone. This is a rare opportunity to let go. I suggest we end him right here and right now to get rid of him and the Dark Empire forever. Please, remove the force fields so our troops can enter."
Paragus kept his gaze towards the Dark Lord, who fixated his gaze on him, too.
The confrontation of the millennium!
The confrontation between the two sovereigns of their respective nation that didn't happen for a millennium was now happening in front of their eyes.
The Dark Lord was younger than the Light King, so behaviors like these should be expected but... the rudeness he showed today was intolerable despite the shaky relationship they built over the past hundred years because of Princess Celestia.
To be precise, Atrox and the Light King's daughter were close in age, so it would be safe to assume that Atrox was just a furious young man in Paragus' eyes.
If the circumstances had been different, Paragus would have taken Theon's suggestion.
Getting rid of the Dark Lord would only cause the diminishing of the Dark Empire since there was no other heir appointed to inherit it.
The struggles for rulership might easily become the Dark Empire's end even before the Light Kingdom could act against them.
However, despite the apparent fury visibly emanating from the Dark Lord, Paragus knew that the news of his daughter's passing had broken the young man inside.
How did he know?
Of course, he was the father of Princess Celestia and it ripped his heart apart, as well.
"No," Paragus answered in return, "He must have heard of the news. Let me handle him alone, Theon."
Atrox's fury doubled as he watched the Light King's calm demeanor.
He did not look like a father who was mourning.
There was no trace of grief on his face, and it made the Dark Lord even more suspicious of how his wife had died.
The Dark Lord's emotions were at war.
Anguish and profound wrath towards the Light King were in a constant battle inside of him.
It fueled his body to keep moving, despite the crippling pain inside his chest caused by losing his wife and the mystery that surrounded her death.
Theon immediately pulled his sword and pointed it towards Atrox after the latter took a step forward to the Light King.
However, Atrox nonchalantly ignored the Paragon Knight Commander and pointed his left palm to the chamber's wall before he angrily squeezed his left hand.
Consecutively, the Dark Lord's authority dragged the vulnerable Paragon Knight Commander towards the wall like a disgusting fly, crashing him severely onto it as spiderweb-like cracks lined the tough chamber walls.
"You fool! You dare to ask me why I came?! I expected to find a lamenting father and a funeral for my beloved wife! But what do I find instead?! You are sitting on your throne as if nothing happened! You should be ashamed of yourself, Sixth Light King of the Light Kingdom!"
"That's enough, Atrox! I know you didn't come here for a fight, so don't take things too far more than what you already have. You showed too much disrespectfulness already. Let's talk it out," Paragus shouted, getting on his feet as gusts of wind were threatening to ensue around him.
He took a glance at Theon, who was now unconscious, tracing if mana was still radiating from him to know if he was alive since he couldn't see the Paragon Knight Commander's health bar.
'Talk it out?! This damn old man!!!' Atrox clicked his tongue before he opened his sinister mouth, "You know, she would have been alive if she didn't come here and obeyed her idiot father's stupid rules like an obedient little girl."
Paragus' heart thumped painfully after he gave attention to those words.
"You have been a wall between us ever since, Paragus. And you continued to do so even after our marriage. Because of that, you're bound to suffer in the deepest circle of inferno flames as punishment!!!"
The Dark Lord's insensitive words had broken the Light King's hold on his temper.
"You have no right to accuse me of not grieving for my daughter! I only wish for her safety. You don't know how hard it is to trust my daughter in the hands of a person like you. I couldn't sleep properly for hundreds of years after I let go of her. You massacred our people alone in the last Grimy War before you became the Dark Lord, Atrox. You know nothing!"
Atrox smiled ear to ear before he belted out a deep growl in response.
