Like we planned, Tani and I took the main road. On the way, we have seen several knights, but none of them noticed us with their speed.
We were careful, and we reduced our travel time as well. Still, with no horses or carriages, it was just impossible to travel back and forth from the palace to the Capital in one day.
Nevertheless, I was determined to continue, even if the people in the palace knew we snuck out. If we were going to be in trouble, I might as well accomplish something for this sacrifice.
"Tani, I think we need to camp for tonight." I uttered, letting out a heavy sigh as we've been walking through the woods near the main road for almost a day.
"Your Highness…"
"Tani, we can't return to the palace before dusk, even if we try going back now."
Slowly, I turned to Tani standing on my side. To my surprise, Tani was staring ahead as the side of her lips tilted into a satisfied smile.
