I was shameless.
I said anything banal to Tani as if I truly felt guilty for almost killing her. I felt bad, that was for sure. But deep down, I was relieved that she came into my room last night without prior notice. Because if I didn't drink her blood, I knew it was only a matter of time before I self-destruct.
She saved me. I owed Tani my life and this marriage.
"Lu!" I called, running through the hallway to find the man I longed to embrace as tight as possible. "Luis!"
"Your Grace?"

I ignored the servant I passed by before jogging backward. She looked at me in surprise, holding the feather duster with both her hands.
I kept jogging in the same spot. "Have you seen my husband? I checked his office, and he wasn't there."
"Uh... Your Grace, I think I saw His Grace heading to the training..."
