"Hunter Leo had me scanned in the other day. I wanted to be of some use to you, and I knew that you would accept when you found out it was me." Jenna makes the coffee, then places it on the desk. "Would you like me to clean up the office today? It would help me get used to how everything is in the office if I explore it. As for missions, I will only go on the ones that you want me to."
"I am glad that we have an understanding. Yes, my office is in a bit of disarray. I knew that I needed help, but when your trainees do not know what to do, it makes it difficult to focus on what needs to be done because you do not know what will be broken in your office. As I know that you will not break the good glassware, I will show you where that is located." Brielle sat back and starts to look at all the computer work that was piling up. "Fuck I hate paperwork."
"Is there anyone that actually likes paperwork? I think that it can be a drag. Where do you keep the mugs?" Jenna smiles and watches as Brielle gets up and opens a drawer that was embedded into the wall, and a drawer of fun mugs pops out. Brielle picks out the mug that says, 'my people skills are just fine. It's my tolerance to idiots that needs work.' She hands the mug to Jenna. Jenna takes the mug and starts giggling. "You have the best mugs. I will be careful with this." Jenna made a refill of coffee and placed it in the new cup, then took away the empty cup. She started to organize all the papers in the office.
About an hour or so passes as Brielle was trudging through the paperwork. She was ignoring the knock at the door until the persistent knock at the door didn't end. "WHAT?" Brielle's patience wore out as the door opened. "You better have a good reason… Oh, um…. Good morning, Leo."
"You know you can ask your trainee to open the door for you. Speaking of which, where did she go?" Leo placed his hands over his eyes as if he was looking somewhere far away. "Don't tell me you kicked this onto the curb too?"
"Fuck you, Leo. She is out getting office supplies since I went through a lot. I will not get rid of Jenna." Brielle got up and stabbed her finger on Leo's chest. "You did this. You fucking knew that I would accept her."
"You got me there, but as Jenna said, she requested you, and it was actually after a lot of debate that we decided to grant her wish. You even cracked out the good mugs. So you must be in a better mood." This earns Leo a scowl. "You know that is not the reason that I am here. I had to check up on you and see if there was anything that you needed after yesterday."
Blowing out the breath she was holding. "I am fine. Yes, it was tragic to lose a package, but there is nothing that can be done about it. How about yourself? You are still hunting for your dream girl?"
Leo turns and punches the wall. "Do you know hope many tickets I have started to sort through? It is not going to be easy, but this is becoming like a hunt, and you know how much I enjoy that."
The sinister look on Leo's face gives Brielle the shivers. "Well if you need help, you can always ask Will or me. I know how fixated you are on this."
"It is more pleasurable when I do the challenge by one's own self, but thank you for the offer. I wanted to let you know that you will not be doing any hunts for the next few days. You are too backlogged with paperwork. So until I receive every overdue file, I will be blocking your hunts." Leo smiles at Brielle.
"You fucking suck, but I will get most of it done as fast as I can." Brielle picked up the coffee mug and took a sip showing Leo the middle finger decal on the bottom of the cup.
Jenna comes back and sees Brielle and Leo having a classic showdown. "Bree do not mind him. He is just jealous that he cannot have a cute trainee."
Brielle was taking a sip of coffee, and at those words, she spewed her coffee on Leo. *Cough, cough* "Jenna, you should watch what you say. Leo is still your boss and has the power to shift you elsewhere, but then again, I could just boycott all of this." She waves at the stacks of paperwork.
Leo pulled his shirt up and wiped his face off. "I will not complain if you actually get them down like you promised. I will leave you with the trouble maker, and I hope that you two ladies get the work done." Leo waved and closed the office door.
Brielle glared at the closed door. "I will get started on these files; if you can make this room tidier, I would greatly appreciate it." She picks up the top case and reviews that file. She turned to her computer and quickly filled out the paperwork with her report of what happened at the end. Brielle looked at the finished file and opened the drawer, and stamped it with the words filed.
Happily, Jenna picked up all sorts of files from the floor and started to place them where they needed to go. Once she noticed that Brielle was almost out of coffee, she took the cup and topped it and placed it back. Jenna placed the files in the filing cabinet, organizing them by dates and species. Every so often, she would look up at Brielle and smile. The office phone rang, and Jenna ran to the phone. "Caddel's office, how can I help you?"
"Finally, I get an answer from this fucking number! Put that bitch on the phone!" The male voice was louder than necessary.
"I am sorry, but my boss is not here at the moment and will never be available for you to speak to again in this lifetime. You have some nerve to call here." Jenna pulls out her phone and messages Leo to track the number down and to block it so that Brielle could work in peace. ~Please tell me this is something easy. Bree can't handle him, and he has no right to be making demands.~
~As soon as you sent the message, I started tracing it. Keep him on the line for a minute or two longer.~ Leo replied and quickly started the call tracing and shifted through the numbers.
"Look here, you little cunt. I know that she is there. This is an office, and there is no way that she does so much out-of-office work. I will give you a thousand dollars to just pass the phone to her." The guy smiling thinks that this one could be bought off.
"Hmph. Do you really think that I would betray my boss for a measly one thousand dollars? Even if you offered me a million, I would still decline. You are the reason that men are scum." Jenna got the message that it was all tracked. "Bye.~" She slams the phone down and messages Leo back. ~Just make sure that he can't get a hold of Bree. That is my only concern. I will not let him hurt her again.~ She put her phone down and turned and smiled at Brielle.
"It called again? I've meant to get his number blocked, but if he changes his number, that is more of the issue. Thank you for guarding me. I knew that I could count on you." Brielle smiled weakly and turned back to the paperwork. She clenched her fists and fought against her tears. 'I will not shed any more tears for the fucking prick.'
Jenna went back to sorting the files and gave Brielle time to recover. She got over half of the files placed in the file cabinet, and she stopped. Grabbing a water bottle from the fridge, she chugs the water and sits in her chair. "You really hate paperwork.
Rolling her eyes, Brielle makes eye contact with Jenna. "You would too if you had to do this much every week. Thank you, I am feeling better now. I appreciate that you are here. It looks Leo is serious as I have been banned from fieldwork. I think that is to help you settle in and so that I actually get my work down."
"I may not understand at this time, but I am glad that I can be here with you. You are the big sister I never had. I want to be strong like you one day!" Jenna crosses her arms and gives a stern look.
