Chapter 39 - 39 Offering and Gift

Chuckling, Ketan looks down at Brielle's face. "Do I smell that good?" He pulls away and places her head on the ground before turning around. The deep cuts in his back started to heal, and he stood up, grabbing the healed female again. Not waiting this time, he bites into her neck, watching the memories of her life. Once it came to the plan she created with a group of vampires, he drank more deeply, draining until the last drop and her body turned into dust.

Brielle sat up a little dazed and looked at Ketan's back as it healed. She flinched, looking down at her ankle. There was blood seeping through a cut, and she pressed her hand over the cut, trying to stop the bleeding. 'Shit, shit, shit.'

Ketan turned, sniffed the air and saw her holding her ankle. He pulled her leg up and licked the wound. Licking up the blood that stained her ankle, then he used magic to clean her blood off the floor and her body. Little orbs of blood floated in the air by Brielle. "May I drink these?"

Brielle held back a moan that hit her lips as he was licking her wound. She looked at the orbs of blood in the air. "Fine, as long as you do not get a taste for my blood." Pulling her leg away, she looked at Ketan then at Casimir, who appeared at their side.

Ketan ate the first ball and shuddered at the taste. As soon as it hit his tongue, he ate the rest faster, and for once, his hunger dissipated. He stood up, held his hands and the scene was cleaned up. With the bodies disappearing as well. "Thank you for that, Little Hunter."

Casimir helped Brielle up and watched the area go back to normal. "Are you okay, Brielle?"

"I-I am fine. A little spooked, but it'll pass. I am not injured anymore. Are you okay with the scent of blood in the air?" Brielle looked at him and then at Ketan.

"Surprisingly, I am fine. There is witch magic that is covering the blood scents in the air so that the offerings do not set everyone here off." Casimir smiled and looked at Ketan.

Susan ran to Brielle carrying her offering and used magic to make it float, and she cried, hugging Brielle. "When I heard the explosion, I was so worried that something bad happened to you. I closed the shop early and ran all the way here." She held onto Brielle for dear life.

Hugging Susan back, Brielle rubbed her back. "I am okay. The vampire behind me healed my injury and protected me. I am fine, Hun."

Susan gasps as she looks at the vampire behind Brielle. Before she can say anything, he places a finger to his lips and eats the last bubble of blood in the air. She nods slightly. "I am so glad that you are okay. Come and join me with my offering. It is rare, but you are allowed to participate."

Brielle lets Susan go and glances at Ketan as he stands there watching the two. "I don't know. Won't the supernaturals get mad?"

"Nonsense. It'll show that you respect us. Come, and we can get a gift quickly before all the stores close." She drags Brielle to a clothing store, and her basket follows them.

"We will be closing in ten minutes, Susan." A lady looks at Susan, dragging the hunter in the room with her.

"That is more than enough time. The hunter wants to join the offering, so when is looking for something for the two of them. We'll be quick!" Susan drags Brielle down the arises grabbing things and placing them in the basket.

Brielle lets Susan drag her. Then she grabs a few things as well. "You are so excited about this. I will join you, as this seems to be very important to you supernaturals." Seeing Susan light up made Brielle happier. After grabbing a bunch of items, Brielle pulled out her phone. "Are you still open? Perfect, can you bring me two boxes of chocolate for vampires? I am in a store near the offering site. I have decided that I would join in." Listening for a moment, "yes, please. Charge the amount to the penthouse. I will pay when I get back to my room. Thank you for your assistance."

Susan jumped happily. "That is a fantastic idea. The Queen adores the chocolates from the mall." She picked out a basket, and they brought it to the front of the room.

Brielle held her phone. "Can I mobile tap with my phone? My card is in my hotel room."

"Of course, and if it doesn't work, we can send you the bill to your hotel room since it is a gift to the Queen and King." The lady darts, scanning everything. "I'm Ariel. It is rare for one of your people to participate."

"Sorry if that is strange. After everything that has happened so far this evening, I think that I should pay my respects. I am Brielle. Although please pardon my ignorance, but why do you guys say Queen and King and not the other way around?"

"That is simple. The Queen is from the night world and was the original one to get the seat, and the King married into the throne. It is okay that you do not know. I forgot to tell you that before." Susan smiles at Brielle and Ariel. "Sorry about springing in on you, Ariel."

"It's fine, Susan. Is the same hunter that helped you out?" Ariel got the total and entered the numbers on the machine.

Brielle tapped her phone, and the total got paid, and she let out a sigh. "Thank you for this." Taking the basket, she starts to fill it with a few goodies when she hears a person coming into the store.

"I'm sorry we're closed now. OH! Come in; the hunter is at the counter." Ariel points to Brielle.

The lady carries a few boxes and places them on the counter. "I couldn't decide what you would want to get, so I grabbed you six different boxes. One is for the king, the other five the queen will love."

"Thank you so much. I will use all of them." Brielle adds them to the basket; everything but one box of chocolates fit. She tied a fancy ribbon around the bat cellophane. She picked up the basket. "I will keep the last box and give it as a gift to another supernatural if that is okay?"

"As long as they are a vampire. That chocolate is for vampires specifically." The lady smiled, and everyone left the store together.

Brielle smiled; she and Susan went up to the offering site. They placed the two gifts down, and Brielle stepped back, watching as everything disappeared.

Ketan placed a glittering silver fox to the ribbon on Brielle's package. ~The package that has the silver fox is from the hunter helping with those trying to leave sacrifices. The basket next to it is a witch's basket that seems to have become friends with the hunter.~

~I FOUND IT!!!~ Yuki picked up the two baskets and ran to the kitchen table with them. ~Is this the same one that you don't want to see?~

~The very one. Enjoy your treat, Mother.~ Ketan cut the connection and went to lean against the wall and hummed as he thought about the taste of Brielle's blood. 'A sweet blood. One that is pure and innocent is rare in an adult. I can taste a hint of depression, and that worries me. I will need to stay away. Her blood is highly addictive, but I had to be the one to heal her. I did not want to share her blood with anyone else. She is mine.' Ketan licks his lips, opens his eyes, looking down at the human that was now in front of him.

"Here, take this." Brielle pushed the chocolates into his arms and ran away, embarrassed. She started hunting for those that meant harm, with Susan beside her. "Do not worry about getting in my way. Your company is appreciated."

"I was worried that I would get in your way. To be honest. I usually leave after I leave my gift to reopen the shop, but staying here with you is something new and exciting." Susan smiles at Brielle, and the two walk over to the side, looking at the crowd. "Was it weird to get protected by the vampire? I heard the explosion."

"Yes and no. This vampire and I have an understanding. I will not do anything to him this time, but he better not fucking not try anything funny. I will teach him a lesson that he will not forget." Brielle glances at Ketan, who is standing at the wall looking at the box of chocolates.

Looking at the box of chocolates, Ketan finally opens the box and picks up the first chocolate and hums. 'Blood chocolates. I will be eating this to keep my hands off of her.' He eats another piece and glares at those that look his way. Finishing all but one chocolate. He picks up the last one and eats it, and licks the chocolate off his fingers. ~Mmmmm, those chocolates are incredible.~
