"Mother," Freya called as she and Evanora walked back to the room where Meridia is. They found her in front of the hearth staring blankly at the fire.
Meridia turned and looked at her daughters with a blank expression on her face. "You can go now and join your sisters in preparing for the war," She said to Freya without glancing in Evanora's direction.
Freya nodded her head obligingly. "Yes, mother," She said. She sent one last warning glance at Evanora before she turned around and left.
Meridia's eyes followed her first daughter until she was out of the house leaving her and her youngest daughter. With her supernatural senses, she made sure that Freya was already far from them before she looked in her youngest daughter's direction. "Evanora," Meridia called.
"Yes, mother," Evanora replied. Her anxiety is starting to build up as her mother continued to just stare at her with an unreadable expression on her face.
