Chapter 46 - A Sun In The Night Sky

Yasu: Manifest. Lake of Fire!

The Pastor backed up with the rest of his students once these words touched their souls. Concealed or not, it was clear that the Shades emotions had resurfaced and taken the shape of pure, unadulterated fear.

The Pastor stumbled over his words as he spoke with his mouth. His face on the other hand, spoke much louder and released words comprising of only truth.

Pastor: Y-you can manifest, such a powerful S-Sword Art? H-how could a filthy m-mortal do such a thing?

Flames erupted from the air around Yasu and flew up the side of the building behind him like a river demolishing everything in it's path after the dam gave in. Even more flames blasted from behind Yasu, forming the shape of two swords on his back.

Yasu: You want to tell me something Pastor?

Pastor: What might that be?

The Pastor's eyes widened and his brows separated as the fear began to fully set in now, the small pool of shadow magic on his back disappeared into nothing and his mana returned to a hidden state.

Yasu: Why do I always hear people tell me that my fire magic affinity is so rare? Why my Water magic is so damned impressive? I mean, so many other people at my school can use up to 3 elements at the same time and they also hear the same bullshit.

Yasu: I always hear "Oh your so amazing Yasu or, wow Kiyoshi your hair and eyes are such a beautiful golden color, I bet everybody loves you at school". I'll even hear them say stuff about Ryker's Wind affinity and how "Ungodly" high it is even though Emelia is capable of stronger Wind spells than him.

Pastor: What?

Shade 1: What is he talking about Sensei?

Yasu formed a ball of water in his right hand and a blade of Wind in his left hand.

Yasu: I felt so much Pride and Power when I used multiple elements but I could never understand why. When I use magic, I feel like a new breed of being and I could never understand why exactly I feel so much might rush through me when I do such simple things.

Yasu: That's when I figured it out Pastor. That's when I figured out why my school never goes on any "educational" trips or visits any of the other "Advanced" only universities.

Pastor:. . .

Shade 2: He's insane, what does he want? Does he want us to ask him or something?

Yasu snapped his fingers on the hand that held the Water magic causing it to explode into a large plume of water vapor before it instantly returned to liquid and shaped itself into a whirlpool in the air behind his mass of intense fire.

He snapped the other hands fingers and launched a mass of wind that may not have been as strong as Ryker's previous blast but was still a massive burst of Wind. The blast was able to knock several of the remaining Shades off balance, leaving them with severe gashes all over.

Yasu: I realized that the people of this town feel much safer now that there's a bunch of monsters running around and learning just enough magic to defend themselves but not enough to reach true strength. I understood that it wasn't the other students being ignored, but our rarity amongst the 6.7 BILLION magic users worldwide and our insane talents.

"No! He couldn't have figured something like that out this early!", Pastor Pestilence backed up even more and shot his mana up to a staggering maximum as he prepared himself for battle.

Yasu's voice turned sarcastic and cocky as he cracked his neck and raised his eye brows. "Hey, where'd all that fancy talk go Pastor? You don't have that big ego you had before when you were trying to kidnap Hera for whatever that dead guy was thinking".

Pastor: What! He's dead!

Yasu: Oh? You didn't notice it yet?

All of the Shades moved to attack but the Pastor shot his hand up to stop them. Sweat ran down his face and arm while Yasu continued to taunt and educate him.

Yasu: Back to my point, I realized at some point that my friends had really never known anything outside of Ranland besides Emelia. Hell, the only person who even knows where they were born was Kiyoshi and he was born in Ranland. This, right here and now, is the only time any of us have ever left the city itself for any reason.

Pestilence: He has to be kidding. He must be!

Yasu: Sorry buddy but, Ryker and Kiyoshi got to have all of the fun against Estrea and Malice 2 months ago. I'm not about to let an opportunity like this pass me by.

One of the Shades positioned themselves in front of Pestilence and shouted at Yasu with a fireball brewing in either hand. "What kind of opportunity might you be speaking of? Yasu Kenshi".

Yasu: The opportunity to spit in the face of everything my arrogant father taught me. He did nothing but tell me how great I was compared to everyone else and yet, I never ONCE beat Kiyoshi Kazuhiko or Ethan Itsuka in a sparring match.

Yasu's fire seemed to be disturbed by some large mana but he ignored it, it wasn't a problem. The Water magic started to pull downward as well by something other than gravity.

"Get em Yasu".

Pestilence: Tch, Abyssal Hands!

Yasu: I've got a feeling you abuse that ability too much.

Pestilence: Don't tell me what I do too MUCH! Disappear you Bacteria!

Yasu: Honestly, I'd prefer if you gave up.

Pestilence: Ngyaaah!

Pestilence fired purple hands of pure shadow magic with claws at the end numbering 42. He let out a long, bloody battle cry as blood flowed from his eyes and nose.

Pestilence: You dare dishonor the 4 Knights! I, the second of the 4 Knights of The Apocalypse, Pestilence, will judge you accordingly! Die you filthy HUMAN!

Yasu: Go ahead and try to kill me you fake ass Knight!

Yasu: Sword Art! Frozen River!

Yasu tore his arm back and ripped the Red Ruby Sword from it's sheath, unleashing a beautiful blue shine onto the entire night sky. The bright flash of red and white lit up the battle field as if it were daytime, what followed was a whirring sound that exploded into a massive boom far above Pestilence and his Shades.

Bright Red changed to an illuminating Deep Blue revealing a glowing Red Yasu Kenshi, floating high up in the sky with a Ruby Red sword flowing with a Dark blue magical aura that turned to sky blue as it escaped the blade.

Yasu closed his eyes and took in a long deep breath as he remained untouched in the sky for a few seconds, completely aware of the impending doom soaring up at him. Silence overtook the bright night sky as the wind blew Yasu's soft hair calmly while he waited patiently.

"Looks like it's time, Yuuta".

Yasu began to fall straight down at the wave of Hellish hands in a nose dove with his aura disappearing upon facing down. His eyes remained closed and grip tight on his weapons, then, he began to spin slowly. Gaining speed more and more the closer he got to the Abyss's Grip. The faster he spun, more and more water began to fly off of his body like some flying sprinkler.

Ryker: What is he doing?

Pestilence: That's right, just let yourself die, PIG!

Hera: Do it Yasu!

Yasu's eyes flew open to reveal Rose colored eyes and a small, flaming glow emitting from them. Scarlet Red mana exploded from his body and his blades Lit up like a light show as a massive blast of Dark Blue Ice magic and Raging Red Fire magic shot outwards, annihilating several of the Abyssal hands and Freezing five of them all the way down to Pestilence.

Pestilence: What is this?! Is he, using two Sword Arts at once?

Yasu: Damn right! Sword Art!

Yasu: Lake of Fire!

Yasu: Frozen River!

Suddenly a blast of light exploded from Yasu once again and this time, he had both arms extended opposite from each other. One Red eye and one Blue eye complimented by a Blue mark next to his Red eye and Red mark next to his Blue eye. Scarlet flames caught the eyes of all citizens that hadn't escaped yet. The world looked on in awe at the magnificent Sun In The Night Sky as it brought light to the darkness that failed to consume him.

Yasu narrowed his gaze to the Shades and lowered his brows when he pushed his magical power up to the max. He slashed his Ruby blade and brought it to his side where he rose it to point at Pestilence.

Yasu: This, is my Intervention. The Intervention of Rising Phoenix.

Pestilence: T-that's, n-no way he could have that. How could a human have that.

Yasu: You want to know why? Because everyone in Ranland is just a bunch of monsters that were so far above their peers that the government placed them here. Drecia is home to some of the greatest Mages in collective history. Some of the Vodros here are even stronger than some Helios Sentinels.

Pestilence: What! No way!

Shade: Heresy! No human like you nor Vodros could ever compare to a Helios child or even a Demon Fetus! You are simply lying you pathetic rat!

Yasu: Oh? Then I guess I'll have to show you just how right I am. You and I both know that humans wouldn't have become as strong as they are by just being exposed to mana, most people could never hope to compare to Ryker, let alone me. Right?

Pestilence:. . .

Yasu: Yeah, that's what I thought. Kiyoshi can have his Deadly Sin of Pride. Ryker can have his Light of Helios power. I, Yasu Kenshi, will become a Sword Artist and prove myself as the strongest with my Rising Phoenix.

Ryker: What? Sin of Pride?

Hera: I'll explain later.

Pestilence: A Sword Artist? You think you could become a Sword Artist human? HA! I've never heard of something so stupid in my life!

Yasu: Well, I'm certainly stronger than the Shade Prince without this form, with it, I could probably wipe Estrea off the map.

Pestilence: Bullshit! You're bluffing-

A bullet of plasma shot past the End bringers head, piercing the Shade behind him and completely scorching him to a floating pile of burnt flesh. Fear overtook the Knight and he froze for a moment while Yasu commanded him and his men's attention.

Yasu: I have one request for you, since I don't like killing people and I'm barely controlling my emotions right now, you have 10 seconds to tuck your tails between your legs and run away. If you do that, I won't kill you for trying to take Hera and do whatever the hell you were going to do.

Pestilence: What do you think you are? A God?

Yasu: Compared to you? I am The Sun and you are a bug in a Sloth's coat, you're there, but nobody knows or cares. Whereas I can't be ignored like this, I am always there and no matter how much I wish to hide, everyone will eventually turn their gaze to me.

Pestilence: Cocky Brat! I will kill you for that!

Yasu: Then do it. I dare you. Try and hit me a single time and you will at least have my respect for having a pair. So, try it.

Pestilence opened his clenched sweat dripping fists and formed a ball of Shadow magic, his mana poured out and covered his body, revealing some strange transparent string around his body.

Yasu: Hmpf, he has a nifty little barrier, how cute.

Pestilence: Tch, we'll see how cute it is, Human.

Purple mana exploded around Pestilence's body as well as the other Shades.

Yasu: Alright, I guess we will.

Yasu: Sword Art's: Lake of Fire, Frozen River.

Pestilence: Unholy Affinity of the 8th circle. Abyssal Hands.

Yasu: Sword Set. Reservoir of Rage.

Purple flames shot upwards as an inferno of Blue and Scarlet shot down to combat them, all onlookers sat in silence. Ryker and Hera wanted to help but didn't dare defy Yasu's wishes and the Shades barely forced themselves to resist.
