CHAPTER 18 - "Divine Infusion"

-Siegfried and Azure began their battle with Rigel, however, they realized they were quickly overpowered by him and his team of dark mages. Knowing this, the party decided to retreat to Oakheart to find a suitable weapon for Siegfried. There, they meet an older man named Jurgen, who is a retired leader of the League of Knights, and he has agreed to help the party take down Rigel.
Rigel: "EX-ANGUIS!"
-Rigel had cast a spell that causes a black serpent to emerge from his wand and slither its way toward its opponent. The serpent quickly slithered toward Jurgen. He sliced the serpent, splitting it in half-
Jurgen: "HYAH!" *TANG*
Rigel: "-tch!"
-As Jurgen's claymore hit the ground, the blade rang out with a loud resonant sound. This was no joke, his claymore was a seriously powerful weapon. Rigel had a look of shock on his face, but then shifted it to a smile-
Rigel: "-- --"
Rigel: "That was an advanced snake spell, yet you blocked it with such ease... Guess I'm going to have to go all out then."
Siegfried: "Jurgen, I think he's about to do something, be on your guard."
Jurgen: "I always am, Siegfried-dono."
Rigel: "OL-VENIUM!"
-The poison expelled itself from Rigel's wand and made its way toward Jurgen. Jurgen quickly lifted his claymore and used it to absorb the impact of the poison stream.
Jurgen: "Ack! That's a powerful spell, I hope it doesn't eat away at the metal. Siegfried, I didn't get any splashes on ya, did I?
Siegfried: "Nope, all good over here!"
-Rigel had a look of annoyance-
Rigel: "Alright, playtime's over!"
-Rigel removed his robes and called over one of his dark mages. They presented him with a gray and gold jacket. He put the jacket on-
Rigel: "Ah, yes. That feels much better. *cracks knuckles* Siegfried, I'm about to show you why you should have joined me..."
-Suddenly, Rigel lept high into the air, higher than any normal person could jump. He lept to the top of a roof, and then made his way to the top of the weapon shop, where Jurgen worked.
Jurgen: "Yo! Get off of my shop!"
Rigel: "Come and get me Jurgen! I'm up here waiting for you!"
Jurgen: "Come down here if you want to fight! I won't fight you up there!"
Rigel: "What's wrong, Jurgen? Don't wanna damage your shop? Heh heh, I might as well just wait up here until Siegfried's curse timer runs out! At this point, it doesn't matter to me!"
Azure: "Rigel, please, get down."
Rigel: "And who do you think YOU'RE talking to? Why should I ever have to listen to a low-level mage like you?"
Azure: "Alright, that's it, you made me angry."
Rigel: "What are you gonna do throw water at me? Oh no, you might get my jacket wet! How terrible a misfortune!"
-Azure drew her wand and cast the whirlwind spell at Rigel-
Azure: "OL-VOLVUN!"
-The whirlwind wrapped itself around Rigel's body and tossed him off of the roof. He hit the ground hard-
Rigel: "WOAH, WAIT, SHIT *boom*"
Rigel: "ow... that really hUR-*ACK*"
-Jurgen had run over to where Rigel was laying and lifted him up by the neck. He pushed him against a wall-
Jurgen: "Listen here, you little shit. I'm going to give you ten seconds to surrender before I drive this claymore through your neck. Do you understand?"
-Rigel wore a face of disgust-
Rigel: "What authority do you have over me, old man? I'll curse you too, how about that?"
Rigel: "...EX--NOLITE--MALEDI---"
Rigel: "ACH!!!"
-Rigel dropped his wand, Jurgen had tightened his grip around Rigel's neck, and Rigel began to squirm. He glared at Jurgen and smiled devilishly. He lifted his hand, and placed it on Jurgen's face, and then-
Rigel: "Ex...Inanis"
-Rigel, without the use of a wand, cast a spell at Jurgen, point-blank. Inanis is a spell that creates a void in front of your opponent and attempts to suck them into it. If they are sucked into the void, they will be teleported to a random location in Provincia.
Jurgen: "AH! WATCH OUT SIEGFRIED AND AZURE!"
-Jurgen let go of Rigel and ran away from the void. The void began to suck the air from around it, numerous objects from around the town entered the small void and were transported to a random location.
~~SOMEWHERE IN PROVINCIA~~
???: *OUCH!*
???: What the hell? Did a pot just fall from the sky?"
-The man flipped the bird to the sky
???: "!#$%!"
~~BACK IN OAKHEART~~
-The void dissipated, and Rigel looked at Jurgen-
Rigel: "Heh, I wonder where those items went, probably just fell into the ocean, to be honest."
-Now that Rigel was slightly distracted, Siegfried grabbed his sword, and initiated a duel with Rigel. He sliced at Rigel, and put a gash in his arm.
Rigel: "-- -!"
-Rigel looked to his left to see Siegfried, sword in hand. Rigel began to bleed from his arm and cast another spell.
Rigel: "Ah, so we're having a duel? Is that it? Well then, allow me!"
Rigel: "GLADIO!"
-Rigel cast the spell Gladio, a spell used to form your wand into a sword which is able to be used both as a sword and a way to cast spells. The newly created sword was beaming with dark energy."
Rigel: "Let us duel, Siegfried!"
Siegfried: "EN-GARDE!"
-Siegfried slashed at Rigel, and Rigel blocked. The two began a sword fight. Slashing away at each other, maneuvering around each other, and chipping away at each other's equipment. Azure and Jurgen watched this duel take place, but forgot that there were 9 other dark mages that needed to be slain!
Azure: "Seigi-kun, you told me you were proficient with the sword, but you never told me you were this good! Look Jurgen, look how fluid his motions are..."
Jurgen: "Indeed, Azure. He would make a fine addition to the League of Knights. I should connect him with my son, Klaus..."
-The 9 dark mages made their way behind Jurgen and Azure and cast a collective spell toward them.
Dark Mages: "NUBES!"
Azure: "LOOK OUT JURGEN!"
Jurgen: "ACK! HANG ON AZURE!"
-Both of them dodged the cloud. Azure used a wind spell to help dissipate it, and Jurgen slashed his claymore through the cloud to further dissipate it.
Jurgen: "It seems I've forgotten about some extra friends that I must deal with. Must be my old age getting to me. Azure, watch as I turn these 9 dark mages into dust!"
Azure: "Go ahead, Jurgen! If you're hurt, I will heal you!"
Jurgen: "HYAHHHH!"
-Jurgen pulled his claymore out once more and rushed into the group of dark mages. Like lightning, he slashed through three of them, causing their bodies to split down the middle. Six dark mages remained, however. The dark mages then cast a spell-
Dark Mages: "OL-FERRUM!"
-Each dark mage had cast the blade spell individually, so six dark blades each shot out of their wands. Jurgen turned around and spun his sword in the air. It successfully shattered four of the blades, yet two of them had pierced Jurgen!
Jurgen: "ACK!"
Jurgen: "Ohhh you little devils, I'm going to mince you now..."
Azure: "Jurgen! Do you need healing!?"
Jurgen: "Not yet, Azure-dono. Allow me to erase these cultists from existence."
-Jurgen picked up his claymore and leaped off of a building wall. He held his claymore out in front of him like a spear, and like butter, his claymore pierced through 3 more dark mages, driving holes into their bodies. They fell, and the count was reduced to 3.
Azure: "You're crazy powerful, Jurgen! No wonder your son leads the League of Knights!"
Jurgen: "Indeed, despite my age, I find myself to be quite strong. I just hope Siegfried isn't struggling with Rigel..."
~~WITH RIGEL AND SIEGFRIED~~
-The duel continued. Both parties were now on equal grounds. Siegfried slashed quickly and accurately, cutting into Rigel's clothes and leaving small cuts and gashes on his body, and Rigel did the same to Siegfried.
*TING, TING, TANG, TING, TANG, SLASH!*
Rigel: "Siegfried, you sure know how to swordfight! I never thought you'd be the type... this just makes the battle that much more interesting..."
Siegfried: "To be honest, I never wanted to be a sword fighter, until I entered the fencing academy."
Rigel: "Fencing academy? What's that?"
Siegfried: "Oh, just a little something from my hometown. It taught me maneuvers LIKE THIS!"
-Siegfried quickly spun around and moved behind Rigel. He drew his sword and stabbed Rigel, however, the blade did not enter his body.
Siegfried: "-- !?"
Rigel: "-ack. That hurt, slightly. Siegfried, have you not yet noticed? Allow me to show you what just happened."
-Rigel turned around quickly and kicked Siegfried with tremendous force. Siegfried hit the ground hard-
Siegfried: "-ACH! TSK! Damn, that hurt..."
-Rigel removed his jacket to reveal a steel plating that he had equipped on himself. Siegfried's sword had slightly pierced the metal but came nowhere close to piercing Rigel.
Rigel: "After hearing what had happened to Gurix, I took an extra precaution. I equipped a blade-proof metal plating. Once again Siegfried you have no chance of beating me."
Siegfried: "Ugh, you're really annoying, Rigel, almost more so than Gurix... I can still beat you though..."
Rigel: "No, you literally can't. I'm not messing around anymore. Let's finish this quickly..."
-Rigel drew his blade, and slashed at Siegfried, cutting open his torso, similar to how Gurix had back at the campsite. Siegfried shouted in pain as he began to bleed out-
Siegfried: "OW! ACK! AZURE-SAN! HELP!"
-Rigel slashed a few more times at Siegfried, cutting his limbs and creating many gash wounds. Siegfried laid on the ground, gasping for air, as he continued to bleed tremendously.
Rigel: "AH, AHAHA, AHAHA! HOW'S IT FEEL SIEGFRIED? THIS IS THE TRUE POWER OF A VOID STAR."
Siegfried: "-- --"
-With three dark mages remaining, Jurgen and Azure had their hands full, however, hearing Siegfried scream, Azure quickly turned around and saw what had just taken place.
Azure: "SIEGFRIED! JURGEN, FORGET THE MAGES, WE NEED TO HELP SIEGFRIED!"
Jurgen: "Shit, he's gonna die out there! Let's go Azure!"
-Jurgen and Azure made their way to Rigel. With no hesitation, Jurgen slashed at Rigel. His claymore made a dent in the metal plating, but Rigel was unharmed.
Rigel: "Oh? You're back already? You're just in time for the show! I'm going to chop Siegfried's body in equal parts, and then dispose of him!"
-Rigel slashed a few more times at Siegfried, as he lay silently on the ground, almost unrecognizable due to his severe injuries...
Siegfried: "-ack---*gasp*"
Siegfried to himself: "Awesome, I'm gravely wounded, just like I planned to be. Shit, this hurts more than I thought it would, however, I should now be eligible to connect with Camriel..."
Azure: "DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH SIEGFRIED! OL-FLUMEN!"
-Azure cast an advanced river spell to Rigel. Flumen is a spell that causes a large amount of water to expel itself from her wand, and wash away her opponent. Rigel quickly drew his blade, and cut Azure on the arm, canceling out the spell.
Azure: "TCH-!"
-Rigel then proceeded to slash at Jurgen, and initiate a duel with him, all the while, Siegfried's body was laying on the ground, nearly lifeless...
-Azure began to cast a healing spell on herself, and Rigel continued to slash at Jurgen. He and Jurgen exchanged blows, Jurgen's attacks were much stronger than Rigel's, however, Rigel blocked all of his attacks.
*TANG, SLASH, TING TING*
Jurgen: "Ah, shit... you're stronger than I thought you were... Azure-san, are you okay?"
Azure: "Doing just fine, Jurgen, please, take out Rigel!"
Rigel: "You two are jokes. I'll pierce through you right now, Jurgen! Don't think that just because you're an esteemed former knight, it gives you an automatic advantage over me!"
-Rigel drove his sword through Jurgen's torso and began to twist it around.
Jurgen: "TCH-! Oh, you BASTARD, I'm done playing with you."
-Jurgen then grabbed his claymore with both hands, and unleashed a HEAVY blow to Rigel's armor, shattering it. Rigel fell to the ground, dazed.
* S L A S H * * S H A T T E R *
-Rigel was shocked, he stared at Jurgen, who had just cracked his own claymore in an attempt to remove Rigel's armor, and it was a success.
Jurgen: "Now that your armor is gone, allow me to slice you in half, Rigel..."
Rigel: "NOT SO FAST, OLD MAN!"
-Rigel then drew his sword and cast a spell-
Rigel: "EX-ARMIS!!!"
-Rigel cast his spell, and magically, another set of armor appeared on Rigel. He was now re-armored, and ready to continue the battle. But it was just then, that Siegfried began to speak....
Siegfried: "n-numen..."
-Rigel turned around and looked at Siegfried-
Rigel: "Eh? You're talkin'? What's wrong Siegfried? Are you about to croak or something?"
Siegfried: "--auxilium"
Rigel: "What are these strange words you're saying? I've never heard them before..."
-Jurgen stood by Rigel, and both of them stared at Siegfried. Azure then gave a concerned look in his direction, then, he said his final word-
Siegfried: "-- -- mihi."
-It was then, that a great beam of light pierced through the heavens, and found itself to Siegfried's body... The light was so brilliant, that Jurgen and Rigel were forced to shut their eyes...
Rigel: "AHHH, WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?"
Jurgen: "THE LIGHT, IT-IT'S-TOO MUCH. RIGEL, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"
Rigel: "I'M NOT DOING ANYTHING OLD MAN, I THOUGHT THIS WAS YOUR DOING!"
Jurgen: "DAMN, THAT'S BRIGHT..."
Azure: "...Seigi-kun?"
-Azure looked at Siegfried's body, as the beam of light continued to pierce through it. It continued for a few minutes. To the outsiders, it simply looked like a beam of light, however, Siegfried was seeing something much different.
~~IN THE NEXUS OF LIGHT~~
-Everything went black after I said those words. If I had waited any longer, I would have died, and probably respawned at the camp... It remained black for a second or two before I was greeted by Camriel.
Camriel: "Ah yes, hello again, Siegfried! It appears that you've decided to call upon me, yes?"
Siegfried: "Yes, Camriel... I have about 2 hours left on my curse clock. I'm nearly dead, my limbs are practically detached, I'm going to die. Please, help me...
Camriel: "Understood, Seigfried-kun. Please, come here and touch my hand..."
-Siegfried came to his feet, walked to where Camriel was sitting and touched her hand. She winked at Siegfried, and then her body entered his. It was a very odd sensation, yet Siegfried could feel the immense power coursing through his veins. He then heard Camriel speak to him once more...
[Camriel]: "Ready to go, Siegfried?"
Siegfried: "...yes, let us go, Camriel-sama."
-Siegfried's body then exited the Nexus of Light, and his consciousness returned to Provincia...
~~IN OAKHEART~~
-The light dissipated, and Siegfried's body had disappeared! Jurgen, Rigel, and Azure all looked confused.
Rigel: "What? He's gone?"
Jurgen: "What kind of magic is this? I've never before seen a spell as powerful as that..."
Azure: "Siegfried? Where did you go?"
-Then, a voice came down on Oakheart from above. It was a voice that mixed Siegfried's and the goddess Camriel's, however, it was coming from Siegfried's body...
Siegfried: "I'm up here, Rigel."
Rigel: "WHAT!?"
-The three looked to the sky, and saw the body of Siegfried, levitating in mid-air. Siegfried's eyes opened, and they were glowing gold. His aura had changed to that of a goddess, suddenly, great winds began to blow, and a great light was emitting from Siegfried's body...
Rigel: "-- --"
Rigel: "-- Siegfried!?!? WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU???"
Jurgen: "Oh....my... well I'll be..."
-Azure was astonished, the light was illuminating her face, and the great winds blew through her hair as she looked up at Siegfried's body. Siegfried looked down at Azure, and smiled.
Azure: "...seigi-kun..."
-Tears began to stream from Azure's face. She stood up, and she and Jurgen retreated to the weapon shop. They spectated what was about to happen through the window.
-Siegfried glided to the ground and walked toward Rigel-
Rigel: "ARGH! Siegfried, I don't know what kind of shit you're pulling, but I'm still going to end you! TAKE THIS!"
Rigel: "EX-FERRUM!"
-Twelve blades emerged from Rigel's wand, and all made their way toward Siegfried at a high velocity... all 12 blades shattered upon impacting Siegfried, and Siegfried was completely unaffected...
Rigel: "-- !!!?"
Siegfried: "Rigel, I'd like to have a discussion with you..."
