I immediately run towards the emerging teenager and engulf him in a hug.
Okay, I know I'm acting like a kid but I can't help it! I haven't seen him in like six months! With two months of no news about him!
"April?" I hear him ask.
I let go of him and give him a goofy grin. "NICCOLAS!"
"It's Niccolo, April."
Meh.
"NICCO!"
He returns my hug and ruffles my hair.
Hey! I thought I told him many times to lay off my hair! But I guess I can forgive him since we haven't seen each other in a long time.
"April. How- how- how are you here?" he gasps and his expression turns to terror. "Oh my gods! Did you get sucked up by a wormhole too?"
'Wormhole'? Oh, he means the holes in the Veil.
"We actually call it holes, or rifts or even breaches. But I guess wormhole works. And no, I wasn't… err… it's complicated."
"I'm just… glad to see you again."
