Chapter 63 - Escape

"Then what about his squadron?" Waynard asked with a solemn expression, Naomi's face got the same reaction, then she said "They're being washed off over there" she pointed toward a few soldiers in the distance wielding water.

"Dammit who the hell did this! Even the World Federation will hunt them down for this, Mercilessly killing soldiers ?!" Lance was furious, "The matter will be of great importance but as long as Sajin is alive they will not expend the manpower, remember they have bigger threats."

Waynard added saying "The Janroes family might use some military influence and try to find them, but that is as far as it might go, the Janroes Patriarch or someone as strong as him would need to come, they would easily find the perpetrator".

"Doesn't matter, the World federation might not get involved but the Janroes and military personnel will be dispatched and they will make our lives a living hell". Soon after their pockets all vibrated, They pulled out their transmitters and their faces turned black. The message was a mission.

[All lieutenant Rank 3 or below that are within a 100-mile radius from Bulward Hospital. Search for anyone suspicious, you have permission to search anywhere you deem suspicious. Anyone else who isn't close enough should check hospital records for any cases that have come in for the last 3 hours.

STATUS: URGENT]

"Dammit, this mission will last for days, officials from the Janroes will come and have to inspect the whole battlefield for clues before we will be ordered to stop."

"I would rather be on the frontlines on 9 Skies," Waynard sighed.

"Don't say something that you don't mean, that is equivalent to hell" Lance scowled. Naomi stepped in "There is no arguing now, I need to go update my squadron on the matter. You should get started as well." Naomi said as she walked away toward her team.

After she explained the happenings her sergeant should help but say "Pardon my french lieutenant, This is a pain in the ass lieutenant", the rest of the squadron was surprised but Naomi was understanding.

You're right, I hate it too. But this is the first family we are talking about. They might just buy the country and turn it upside down themselves. Even then, they might ship out most citizens and burn the country down with prisoners." Naomi sighed, "Kaiser, benjeoma, you guys split the team properly and searched for leads. Ask the military police here for any cars that come to the hospital 3 hours before now. Also, look for records of every patient that was in the hospital."

"You are looking for a young girl, It seemed that she was the cause of all this. Try and find out who the girl was and we might get to the bottom of this, send anything you find to me." The data-gathering department had already sent out information of who they were looking for, work with them and find out as much as you can."

"Yes, mam!" The soldiers disappeared, when they dispersed Naomi looked at the landscape then thought "These winds are too weird, they are so turbulent even after the fight has passed it's as if they're afraid or being controlled" It was not only Noami thinking this all the other lieutenant wondered this as well so they never paid it mind.

She then sighed "Why am I always the one put on these missions? I need to take my vacation to focus on cultivating"' Noami then took off in a random direction.

Earlier, Mila escaped as he skipped distance by the Miles. She managed to burst short distances. Mila knew she had to run away because she was aware of who she just fought. More than that the possibility that sajin might be dead would make the whole island fall into chaos.

She then decided to leave the island. She teleported over miles, disappearing and reappearing a mile away.

"Mila, stop here! You're losing blood" Joey frantically shouted, as he was in tears. Mila was only focused on making it far away. She was continually telling herself "Just a little more" like an ancient mantra.

They were in the middle of the Ocean when they finally crash-landed on the Island. The Island was deserted, when they crash-landed it made the animals run around. After this Mila passed out.

"Mila! Mila Mila! Wake up" Joey vigorously shook Mila as she was not responding. "Dammit, kid! Stop" Joey jolted out of fright, he forgot about her injury. He could see the wound through her torn clothes, It looked like it was slowly burning away her flesh. "Don't worry about it, just carry us to the mountain" Mila covered her wound.

Joey could tell that she was playing it off. Even then he took Rayla into his hands and Mila on his back. He carried them with haste according to Mila's directions. Soon Joey went past some large leaves and came upon a pocket of forestry that looked detached from the world.

Nature was beautiful, it looked like somewhere even a god would want to occupy. Maybe mother nature herself made it. "To the house" Mila pointed, Joey walked over to it and opened it how she instructed.

"Leave both of us here, we'll be fine"

"But how can I help? Let me do it for you" Joey suggested he tried to hold her up, but Mila flashed him off "No kid! You can't even follow a simple damn instruction! When I say run I mean run, what makes you think you can fix this?" Mila held her side from the pain and slammed the door in Joey's face.

Joey stood outside dumbfounded and dejected, he struggled with the possibility that Mila would die. He sat outside of the house, fell on the grass and waited for Mila and Rayla to come out. He couldn't help but be paranoid as he continued to think about Mila and Rayla and whether they would be alive or not.
