"STOP!" Vin shouted, but it was too late. A loud cracking sound echoed throughout the black space, along with a splatter of blood. The others had turned to look towards Vin when they heard him shouting, so they didn't bear witness to what Boss did, but when they heard the cracking and splattering, they turned back.
"NO!" Vin exclaimed, and Lucy seemed to hide behind her brother since she didn't want to see what was before her. Jen closed her eyes and turned away while Henry shook his head lightly. As for Alice, she gulped heavily and took a step back. Josh didn't know what to say, but a part of him felt a sense of ease as if a weight had been lifted from him. It was only momentarily, though, since Vin raced towards Boss.
"Why!? Why did you kill her!?" Vin exclaimed as he ran up to Boss. He looked upset and confused. He didn't understand what need there was to kill Ava. She was already defeated and not at all capable of harming anyone. So why did he kill her?
