Rebecca nearly collapsed due to the immense pain she was feeling. Each step she had taken only increased in pain tenfold, and while the warmth of the light did ease her pain, it never took it away. Sadly, the warmth of the light wasn't enough to reduce the final burst of pain. It was pain beyond comprehension, pain that made Rebecca want to shut down entirely or even kill herself; however, the light in her eyes and conviction in her voice proved just how strong she was.
When she told Don she wouldn't give up and so he shouldn't either, it wasn't a voice filled with pain, but one filled with hope. Her words, actions, everything she had done thus far called a reaction. The pitch-black began to retract, making it look like she was being pushed back into the still white room, but that wasn't the case. Instead, the still white room was brought forth, and the pitch-black became nothing more than a puddle in front of Rebecca.
