Before Noah arrived at the scene, he had made his way away from Tyrone. He decided to listen to Diabella and massacre many spirits to empower himself. Each time he devoured a spirit with his blade, it strengthened his core, thus empowering him. The more he devoured, the stronger he became. Eventually, it became easier to travel the Ruined City thanks to enhancing his core.
Sadly, Noah did not realize Diabella's true intentions. She was merely preparing Noah and his body for her resurrection. She would use his body until she could find a body suitable for her being. Afterward, she would make Noah her personal guard since she didn't want his talents and skills to waste. The thought of consuming him and taking all of the spirits he had inside her did cross her mind.
