Before Raizen was returned to Lily, before the fight had ended, Jake was thinking of a way to beat Raizen. He could have brute-forced his way and killed Raizen, but he didn't know what would happen if he eliminated her summon entirely or just put him in a resting state for a while. So, he tried to think of a different solution.
"If I can stun him for a moment and make him forgot what is going on, then perhaps he will listen to Lily's command. It is almost like her voice isn't reaching him right now..." Jake thought to himself as he watched Lily struggle to recall Raizen. Then, he noticed his Phantasm enter Raizen, and that was when Raizen jolted around and started to scream in agony.
