Chapter 47 - Night 29.5

Within Downtown, two figures were making their way down the empty streets. One of them was downright recognizable. It was General Smith. He was walking with his hands behind his back and in perfect posture. A proud air could be seen coming off of him. However, the other person was unknown. They were wearing a white lab coat and casual plain white tee-shirt, and black slacks. They had on black loafers, but the most unusual thing was that they were not walking. Instead, they were floating, hovering, if anything ever so slightly off the ground. Their upper half of the body was leaning ever so slightly forward. This person had a unique mixture of amethyst and emerald color hair. Their hair was tight up into a messy ponytail. Strays of hair broke from the ponytail and were out here and there.

The person had their arms under their enormous bust. Their arms looked nearly fragile or dainty even, but their slim figure and wide waist-line and thick thighs filled their clothing nicely. Attached to the woman's back was some kind of metallic backpack-looking thing. It was small and looked like it weighed nothing. The woman had a pair of rimless spectacles that unique amethyst eyes were looking through.

"Tell me again why you wanted to come out here?" General Smith spoke up without looking towards the woman. His tone of voice was just how it usually was, rough and vigorous. The woman didn't look towards the General either. She would respond, though, "Don't you think it would be a waste to lose such a precious subject? I mean, the ability to create illusions through words..." The woman would begin.

"Sure, I've seen people create illusions and mirages, but nothing like this. It's as if the illusions became a reality. It's almost like he has the ability to bend reality to how he sees fit. He even managed to fool you, General." The woman would finish, her amethyst-colored lips curved into a smirk. The small dimple on the corner of her lips seeming to aid a bit of charm to her already naturally alluring facial features.

The General sighed heavily. "You need not remind me." The General would groan. "Anyway, how do you plan on bringing him back? His vitals are long gone. Last I recall, you are no healer." The General would question. They had yet to find a replacement for the Doctor they lost a while back. Natalie was supposed to be that replacement, but there was no guarantee that she would be with the current situation as it was. In the end, they may have to kill her.

"I have my ways, besides. As long as I can piece something back together, I can force the spirit back into its body. Although, they will just be mindless doll without any will of their own. But it's better than having a disloyal dog run off on you. Speaking of which, what are you doing do about her?" The woman would inquire after answering the General.

The General scoffed at her remark. It seemed like she was trying to get under his skin, which she tried to do often. After all, their two factions did not get along. General Smith was part of the Military Might Faction of The World Government; meanwhile, the woman was part of the Research and Development Faction of The World Government. "She had her chances. She'll stay dead this time." The General would remark. "Such a cruel father." The woman would snicker, "So that means I can finally open her up and take a look at her Seeds, correct?" The woman would follow up. She had wanted to actually take a look at Shade's/Rose's seed for a while now actually.

The woman loved doing research on the different Seeds. Each one was fairly unique. Even if two people could use fire, the power output would differ, and the activation method differed. The evolution was also different. Some had an evolution where they could use magma, and others could create combustions or call forth vortexes of flames. So even if two or three people could use the fire element, it didn't mean their evolution was the same. This could also be said for the other elements, even Time, Space, and Mirage Seeds.

The General would wave his hand dismissively. "She is no longer my daughter. Do as you would." The General would remark, and the woman would grin wide. "Great!" She exclaimed with glee. All around them in the buildings were the Amazoness. They had been watching, ready to attack at any moment, but the reason they did not was that they knew they could not win. Therefore, they would not attack unless they were attacked. So all they did was watch from the shadows. The General and the woman knew they were skulking around but didn't care.

Eventually, the two of them arrived at the building they were searching for. They stepped inside and saw Richard's dead body on the ground, along with pieces and bits of his brain and skull splattered all over the place. Blood also seemed to paint the inside of the room.

"Well, at least the tracker wasn't damaged." The woman would comment. "Just hurry up." The General would remark before turning away to stand to watch if any of the Amazoness did decide to attack;. However, they wouldn't be able to do anything to them if the Amazoness did. He knew that quite well but just wanted to be away from the insufferable woman.

The woman would snap her fingers, and an emerald cybernetic screen appeared before her. Several other data screens also seemed to come forth. She would push up her glasses since they slide down her nose. The metallic backpack on her back came to life as the woman began tapping away on the screens. The data seemed to be encrypted, and the encryption was only something she could read. The back had several arms coming from it—three on each side. One of the arms looked like a saw blade, the other looked like a spear, then another looked like a hand. These three were on one side. On the other side, there was a vacuum-looking arm, an arm with a gigantic shield, and an arm that was a hand. The vacuum would move forward and begin sucking Richard's dead body into it. It would also begin collecting the scattered brain and skull pieces as well. It didn't pick up anything else, though, just what it was after. Once it finished the job, the metallic backpack slowly returned to its normal state.

The thing looked like a normal backpack, minus the metallic part. The woman never once seemed to grace the ground. Her body turned, and she hovered towards the door. "All done." The woman would comment. "Good, now we can go home." The General would add, but before they continued onward, the General got an incoming call. He placed a finger to an earpiece, "General Smith, speaking. Report." The General would speak up.

A distorted voice came from across the call. "The Sin Squad has failed in their mission. Ire has sustained energy loss and will need time to recover. Ego, Avidity, Fam, and Avarice have also sustained heavy damage. However, En managed to pull them out in time. To add, the NS suits have been extremely damaged and will take time to repair."

The General's expression crumpled. 'Someone other than the Rosario Group was able to handle the Sin Squad?' The General would question internally. It then came to him that there may have been one person in particular who could do it.

"Did you ever find me a file on who that man is?" The General asked since he still had his finger on the earpiece. "Negative. He has only ever once been seen, and that was in the Outpost in Austin. Sources say that he was seen with a woman as they left." The voice answered.

"Natalie..." The General would mutter before continuing. "Then that man has most likely been in hiding until now. If he can stop the Sin Squad, then he is most like Grade Level 4 or 5. You have done well. When you find out where they are, send me the details, I will personally deal with them." The General would remark before releasing the earpiece.

The woman had hacked the General's comms, so she heard everything. A smirk displayed across her lips with one thought alone, 'A new subject!'. The two of them would return back to base. They had come here via vehicle, but they could not bring the vehicle Downtown, so they had to leave it in the outskirts of Downtown. As the two of them left, one thing was known. The World Government was divided.

Clearly, the Sin Squad knew where Don and his group were, but the General did not know. If that was the case, then certain information was behind withheld from him. The Sin Squad reported directly to the High Commander. Therefore, if the High Commander did not divulge the information, no one would know about it. The General was well aware of the division between The New World Order. He had agents planted in each faction. There were a total of four factions with The New World Over.

Military Might was the first one. They believed they were the ones who ruled, and if no one obeyed them, they were dealt with swiftly. They were the ones sent to guard outposts and keep watch over the cities. Many agents were part of the Military Might faction, but few knew of the General's plans. So most of them were just simple guards, just like the ones Don met. This was most likely why Natalie was able to stay within the outpost for so long. General Smith was the Overseer of Military Might.

The second faction was Research and Development. They leaned more towards learning more about the Seed and what it could do. They would often use near-death people or gather people that Military Might didn't want to deal with to test on them. The thing they learned was that if the host died, the Seed would only last at least twenty-four hours before it died out itself. It could not be replanted into another host either, which is what made the Seed unique. So they often kept near-death people to experiment on until they died, or those that the Military Might faction gave them. The living ones were often kept alive through machinery as long as possible for experimentation and study of the Seed. This was how they determined what the Seeds could do. Red, Blue, Green, and Brown were mainly basic. They were the most common. Yellow was rare, and White and Black were extremely rare. They had yet to come across Purple, Gray, or Orange, but if they did get their hands on anyone that had that kind of Seed color, then surely they would do their best to learn as much from it as possible. R&D was also the ones who had a part in the development of the NS suits. The woman in the lab coat was the Overseer for this faction.

Next was the Resource Management Faction. They maintained the flow of food and water throughout the world. They were able to purify dirty or radiated water to keep it clean. They also grew preserved goods that could be stuffed into cans that would last for a while. They even created bullets, guns, and other various equipment alongside medical items. They usually avoided the front lines and only ever came out during the night when no one was around. No one knows much about the Resource Management Faction other than the High Commander and those of similar status. Due to this, no one knows who the Overseer for this Faction is.

Lastly is the Creation Faction. Instead of destroying everything, they create what they can. They were the ones who created the outposts. They are also the main developers of the NS armor. The Overseer of this faction was someone else who was not present. They never stepped out of their workspace unless they absolutely needed to. They were too focused on creating new and interesting inventions. With the creation of the NS suit, they found that the Seed provided a large amount of energy. Enough that could fuel an entire country. While they chose to stay away from the other factions, they did work alongside R&D.

Even though they were all part of The New World Order, they were divided with their own tasks and interests. This was why General Smith and the woman did not get along. This was also why General had agents in each faction and why he did not have the information on Don and his group like the Sin Squad did. The General knew they were on some kind of mission, so he had an agent keep an eye on them, but the agent lost them when they began their mission. When they returned, the agent saw that they had sustained severe damage. So, the agent decided to report right away even though the agent did not get the information the General requested, which was about Don.

When the two returned to their base, which seemed to be located in some remote area in the middle of seemingly nowhere, they would drive through the front gate. The entire base was fairly large and difficult to miss. Several towers ran along with the parameter and on the walls happened to be fairly large duo-barrel cannons. The wall seemed to also have single barrel cannons on the inside poking out as well. Still, the size was not as large as the duo-barrel cannons, which looked like they could fit on some kind of airship or space cruiser. There were also spotlights going all over the place, taking to both the air and the ground. The base itself looked like some kind of fortress, and that was only from the outside. On the inside, there were several patrols scouting—many soldiers in training and few civilians that would maintain basic necessities. There were two interesting things about this fortress aside from how intimidating it looked. One was that there were no bugs or undead roaming around. This was most likely that some kind of repellent was in place. The second was the large tower in the center of the fortress. Both its girth and height far surpassed the walls themselves, and if anything, it didn't have any windows, nor did it even look like a building. Nevertheless, there was clearly something special about that tower.

"For something so hard to find, it sure sticks out like a sore thumb..." A seductive yet masculine and deep voice spoke forth. "That so, Leader?" A sensual and luscious voice filled with feminity spoke next. "So are we going in?" A soft yet determined masculine voice called forth. "In a minute, Sky. I don't like the looks of that tower, and my system isn't giving me any information about it. "Why don't be raze everything to the ground like usual." A rough and aggressive male voice came forth. "As much as I hate to agree with him, I think we should, Darling~" A seductive voice that sounded like it could belong to a succubus spoke up next. A wide grin would curve across the nearly eight-foot-tall man who stood on the edge of a cliff looking out of the tower. "Even if my system won't give me any information, I firmly believe we should pay them back in full. No one messes with the Rosario Group. Isn't that right, everyone." The seductive yet masculine and deep voice spoke forth once again.

A fair amount of yeah and yups came from various people of the large group that stood behind the man, then another voice came forth. "Can you stop cleaning to him already! He doesn't just belong to you!" A feminine voice spoke up to the one who called the man darling. They had clung to the eight-foot-tall man from behind while feeling up him lovingly. She turned back towards the woman who called out her and stuck her tongue out at the woman. Everyone seemed to sigh heavily before the man started to give everyone their orders. First, he would bring up a large cybernetic screen displaying the land and what was around the fortress on a 3D scale. Next, he would go over the plan and how they would infiltrate the place and then what they would do afterward. Once everyone knew what they were to do, they formed their groups and proceeded with the mission.

Meanwhile, back in Texas, Mark was making his way towards the destination. He arrived in the morning, but he managed to get through all the bugs and undead without hassle. So he would arrive a bit earlier than anticipated; however, it technically was morning since it was well past midnight. Plus, he was originally going on foot. Still, he managed to, shall we say, relieve an individual of their vehicle.

As he slowly pulled through the streets, the headlights showed two large holes in the middle of the street near the destination he was supposed to go to. He managed to drive past the but had to drive through mail-boxes and fences to do so. When he arrived, he noticed two bikes parked outside one of the homes and figured that was the house, so he moved the car closer to the home and stopped it. He put the vehicle in park, turned off the car, and slid the keys into his pocket before heading towards the house, but as he did, he felt something was off. The air around was dense and heavy. As if something terrible had happened here just recently. He wasn't aware of the battle; after all, he started making his way over short after packing everything he had in the back of the van covered by a tarp. Mark began making his way to the front door and noticed it was wide open. When he arrived he could see several people in the living room with despair and sadness on their faces.
