We continued to walk. I led the group, but it wasn't much of a boast. The twins had thrown the protection bubble around me, and their ears and eyes were on high alert. All I could do was move with care and keep my focus on them. If they reacted, so did I.
Another hour took us to the section where the tunnel divided. The twins paused, sensing with everything they had.
"Right here." Corwin pointed to the spot where we had nestled for the night during our sojourn out of Topaz. "The bubble actually intersects two of the three tunnels, with the one going back the way we came the only one that is on the side of the human dimension."
"So if we stood in that tunnel, we would be in the dimension that we need to be on when we do the Detachment Process?" I asked.
"That's the general plan, but you know what they say about the best-laid schemes of mice and men," Connor responded.
