Chapter 145 - The Recluse Lord

The hallway was silent save for the low hum of the air ducts.  There was no sound other than my own breathing and the thud-thud of my soft-sole shoes on the tile floor. 

The walls were nondescript, just like the hospital, except the hospital hallway was painted a bright cheerful white, and was lit with lights that mimicked warm sunlight. 

This particular hub hallway was just a blank grey hallway that stretched on into the distance. 

There were doorways at regular intervals which glowed with a slight blueish tinge, but I tried a few and found that none of the doors could be opened. 

I tried pressing my ear to the doors, but there was no sound coming from any of the rooms.  No strange smells either.  In short, there was nothing that would distinguish it from any other hub.
