Chapter 153 - Generational Freedom

"That's true," I admitted with some reluctance.  "The kitchen staff that I used to overlord made great food and pastries and a mean burger.  But leave them out in the wilderness and they would die from exposure and hunger.  They have lost the ability to forage for themselves."

Gabriel raised an eyebrow at Rafael.  "You said something regarding truly freeing the apes within several generations.  How do you plan to do this?"

"Education," Rafael enunciated the word with emphasis.  "The adult apes of this generation belong to the Lost Generation, meaning there is nothing we can teach them. 

They grew up as slaves to the mages and won't know what to do with freedom if we gave it to them.  We have to start with their babies and begin a culture and system of educating them so that they can step past the chains that shackled their parents into the past."
